I only go to movies to see blown up.
The rest can be rented from bb.
Joe, I think you have an idea worth exploring. Open up a small theatre in the big Walmarts and charge a couple bucks to watch some animated feature so the parents can shop in peace. It might be worthwhile. Don't know who you would go to with that idea, but it might work.

I could only find renderings for two of the seven planned theaters.
The Santikos Granada 16 on Potranco Road/1604 in the far West side:
The AMC 24 or 30 (They've still to decided) planned for the new Park North Plaza that is going to be built on the Central Park Mall site:

Why is this sad? You think businesses should go and do every project that gives them warm fuzzies?
Park North Plaza - when is this shyt gonna open , thanks for the renderings, my night is now complete![]()
People still go to movies?![]()
I think you're one of the few.![]()
bout time they did something at the old central park mall site....sweet. traffic will be a though.
The 21 screen Santikos Palladium theater that is being built for The Rim. A new mega development 17 miles northwest of downtown across the freeway from another currently being built development, The Shops at La Cantina, which itself is going to build a 12 screen AMC theater.
![]()
So this will be built across 1604 from the Shops of La Cantera?
It looks nice and it's super close to our house.
Yeah. At The Rim.
Which is going to be a really big development with retail, office, hotels, housing, a mini riverwalk, etc.
When totally finished, it will have apartments, a mall, hotels, rowhouses, single homes, a open air lifestyle center like The Quarry anchored by Bass Pro, a town center, a restaurant row with Leon Creek turned into a mini Riverwalk and a this theater.
And then AMC is building a relatively small 12 screen theater just across from Santikos at The Shops.
Santikos will have theirs up by Thanksgiving, AMC won't have theirs up until early 2006.
I really like Santiko's theaters over the big chains.
He owns his own land that he builds on so he doesn't charge a arm and a foot on tickets and stuff. Also, no damn commericals during the previews!
Speaking of movies....go see Hitch on Friday...it looks like it will be great.
Even you, cheap bas ette.

Wow, that's great. Thanks for all the information. When totally finished, it will have apartments, a mall, hotels, rowhouses, single homes, a open air lifestyle center like The Quarry anchored by Bass Pro, a town center, a restaurant row with Leon Creek turned into a mini Riverwalk and a this theater.

those renderings are tight as . i will be hittin that up when it opens.
Klandestino would say that no one will go there because that's where the black folks live, and it's too SCARY.Why has the far east side not been built a theater? I can understand the inner east side a bit with the AMC Rivercenter but past 410, no theater... weird.![]()
I'm not sure anyone here will care about this, but I've made a new thread in the politics forum because of a conversation I had about these developments this evening.
It's interesting to note how laws were basicaly ignored during the development over the recharge zone and the only thing reported is how great the damn bass shop and new movie theater are going to be.
Right
Anyhow, it's political so I put it in the politics forum.

I just watch movies on demand.
Better parking, lower concession prices and volume control.
