Tony was a warrior tonight. I was frustrated with the Spurs to start the game because of all the freakin' jumpshots. Then Tony put on his evil cape and zoomed into the lane. And man, he took a hit to the head in Game 1. This time around, he gets bulldozed by Shaq. And he just comes right back at you. Great job, Tony.

First off, I just want to say I agree with everyone here. Tony was our best player tonight. He was incredible, and I definitely thought this was one of his best defensive games of his career.

But it has to be said that we did outscore the Suns by 11 without him and got outscored by 5 with him, so really, this is a team victory. I thought a lot of guys played great today. Really almost everyone who played contributed. I thought Bowen was better tonight than game 1 defensively, I thought Oberto was better, Kurt and Finley were huge and again Barry was helping us space the offense well while not getting toasted defensively. , Udoka led the team with a +17. Every time he was in, good things were happening for us.

Which is proof +/- doesn't mean much in this game per person because Udoka pretty much sucked.

I think it's more of an example of how small ball worked tonight than how Udoka was playing particularly well. Udoka played PF whenever he was in there, and the Spurs started kicking ass.

I think it just shows that he was lucky enough to be on the court when the Spurs went on a run that he didn't contribute to, except some gift baskets. He didn't do much of anything and mostly looked slow and lost.

I agree that it was a team victory and a lot of players played their role very well, the plus/minus was flawed a bit against Parker because he was on the bench at the same times Nash was resting. It makes sense for the Spurs to pull away when Nash is out.

However, I do expect the bench +/- in this series to be as good or better than the starters. The Spurs bench is one of areas the Spurs are vastly better. Ginobili by himself is better than all seven guys the Suns can bring off the bench.

First, he was very good. Second, he made some bad decisions down the stretch (clock management) that made it easier for the Suns to cut the lead. Third, he made up for it later on, so it's all good.
goddamn i was so ing pissed when he tried to take it to the hole with a few minutes left and there was still about 16 seconds on the shot clock... everyone around me was cheering and ... but i knew the spurs were in the midst of one of their infamous slumps and that the game wasnt even close to over.

Tony was a warrior. He's gotta be hurting from getting bang around on offense and he really was awesome on D. Tony and Manu were both incredible tonight.
You just had to bring Manu into the Tony thread didnt you?

Parker and Duncan now definitely step up more once the playoffs start.
