Forget it, let's just say he sucked.
Well then that means you're just not a real Spurs fan jackass. I know 15 year olds who've seen Del Negro play.

... nor the rebounding nor defense.
... nor the passing nor the height.... actually, the only things I can think of that they share is the epic failure in the playoffs and the white skin.
Isn't Del Negro partial owner of the Suns now or something?
Whoa.
WE LANDED ON THE MOON!
Okay, I may not be current, but at least I'm not crazy.Del Negro played the final games of his NBA career in Phoenix. He served as the Suns' radio analyst for three years before working as director of player personnel and assistant GM the past two years.
Del Negro was a far better basketball player than Gregg Popovich. In other words, a player's ability has very little to do with whether or not he's going to be a good coach. That was a weird hire, IMO.
He was a good player. He was soft though and he did have a tendency to disappear in playoff games. He was a streak shooter though. So sometimes he gave you 15-20 point games but sometimes he was no where to be found. Couldn't do much from the 3 point line but he had a great mid range jumper.
I don't know anything about the guys personality though. It doesn't suprise me that people say he was soft and a whiner though. I can vaguely remember having that impression about him and that was before I got that deep into basketball.
