fin, udoka or barry > Sasha

    I'd take Smith though....

Sasha just looks like a kid to me... he's trying to prove himself every time he's on the court imho... and that leads to a lot of mistakes... he's just someone I wouldn't want to see on the roster.
i'll agree with barry and udoka but im not sure finley is better than sasha.

sissy boy. keep walking son. he's psychologically damaged goods from what Boston did to him. Plus, I can't wait to see what Manu has in store for him.

Posey plus a SF would be a good summer

Apparently he is seeking the full MLE of 5.8 million this season. As much as you guys HATE Sasha he really seems like he would fit right in with the Spurs. I don't how if they want to bring Finley back, and Sasha can probably take over his starting spot right away with Ginobili coming off the bench. This season he has shown he's a good 3pt shooter (#8) and that he can play some pesky defense. I can't imagine an more annoying combo on the perimeter than Sasha and Bowen.

Sasha is also very young, 23. I'm sure the Spurs can mold him into a Bowen like gnat on defense and his shooting is good enough to give the Spurs proper spacing on the floor. The bottom line is the Spurs are in a position to offer a player like Sasha the full MLE, whereas the Lakers would be paying double that since they would be in the luxury tax. There is no way in Buss is writing Sasha 11.6 million dollar checks this season.
After his 3 in the last sec of Game 5, showing a TOTAL disrespect to the Spurs and our organization, I would NEVER imagine even a consideration from Pop to get him...Keep him yourselves and pay "double"...When S learns to respect the NBA, then he can come and Play for the Spurs!

    GO SPURS!!!

Go after Smith, Posey, Aszabuke (Sp?) . If we can't get on of them, we've got to go after Sasha.

At ude's aside, the kid is only 23. He will mature as he gets older.

He could defenitely bring the spurs some youthful fire, energy, and defense to this older team and be able to give Bowen and Ginobili some good rest during the regular season. This could be crucial to a successful spurs playoff run. He's shown he's a clutch shooter who can get hot on the drop of a dime. Although he doesn't "create" his own offense in the traditional sense of taking guys off the dribble, his height (6'7") allows him to get his knockdown jumper off in traffic when he wants. So in effect he can create his own shot just fine.

And defensively, he missed one assignment on Ray Allen at the end of 1 game. Other than that, he was the laker's best perimeter defender during the playoffs. Seeing as that is one of the lakers' biggest weaknesses right now, taking him away from them would hurt them alot and be a smart move by the spurs.

    Just my 2 cents

I see you trying to pawn your whiney ass eratic sg on the Spurs....fortunately for us I see the Spurs laughing when Vaji says he deserves the full MLE....every year teams overpay with the MLE, Jarred Jefferies & Jerome James from the Knicks, Abdur-Rahim from Sacto, Tim Thomas from the Clipps.....I just don't see the Spurs wasting the full MLE on someone like Vaji.

Someone will give him the MLE, but I doubt it's the Spurs. I think they'll split that money on a couple of players; for instance, Roger Mason and Matt Barnes. You could certainly make an argument for Vujacic at that price, as much as Spurs' fans hate him right now - 45% from the field, 40% from three, pesky defender, doesn't turn the ball over. He just needs to mature, as a person and player.
I could see the spurs trying to split the MLE between two players and possibly getting someone with the LLE too and then letting them fight it out in camp (along with their 1st rnd pick) to see who stays and who gets used as trade bait. Not a terrible strategy... If they are losing Finley & Horry and resigning Thomas, that would give them 11 players under contract as astarting point... If Thomas doesn't want to resign, that would really make things interesting...
Another issue though-- and correct me if I'm wrong here-- but aren't the MLE and LLE only available for use once every two years, and not able to be used two years in a row? It's hard to argue for a "bite the bullet" approach though-- saving moves for next year or later since the Spurs would likely want to go all out for les before Duncan starts his inevitable decline in a couple of years....

I am by no means an expert, but I believe the LLE is also referred to as the bi-anual exception - that obviously can only be used every other year. Teams are free to use the MLE every year that they are over the cap.

Sasha isn't a starter i prefer Peitrous he will be a better starter. Plus Sasha might find himself in Pop's doghouse very quickly because of his inconssistent D. Once your in it your in it.

Sasha Vuja , don't want him, plus I think the lakers r gonna try and keep the team they have now, seeing how kobe stated his approval of this years 2nd half lakers team. If we could get posey, he would be a great fit, but the celtics r gonna resign him if he's a FA. Bottom line is we need another slasher with decent shooting more than another pure shooter. We got barry, udoka, bonner and possibly fin shootin 3s and parker/manu penetratin. When one of them gets into foul trouble or hurt, then our offense becomes stagnant cuz everyone else outside of the big 3 just hug the 3pt line. A 3rd slasher with a decent shot would help alot
