Kobe was still a superstar, not a role player. Teams can have 2-3 superstars you know.
Shaq wouldn't have won those rings without Kobe, and same goes for vice versa. Shaq was the better player then but who cares really, as if it's shameful to be slightly worse than a 7 foot monster who averaged 30/15 in the playoffs.

Didn't he actually say this to the officers in a casual conversation, not an interrogation? Similar to his casual conversations last summer with some fans regarding Bynum and Kupchak? Please don't attempt to portray Kobe as a good guy in this or pretend that he wasn't trying to deflect the attention.
