MIB3...not by choice.....suprised it was pretty entertaining for a popcorn flick.
21 Grams 6/10
The out of sequence scenes made it abit convoluted and confusing at times.
That's my boy 7.5/10
I thought it was a great movie.
Naomi Watts with the NHO's...
Jeff, Who Lives at Home. It was pretty entertaining, 7/10.
Snow white and the huntsman
I give it an aaiiiggght
Elite Squad 2 8/10
Great watch.
The special effects were the worst part of the movie for me.
Rock of Ages - 9/10
Would've given it a 10 but there is a "gay" scene in this movie. Why do they feel they have to include gays in every movie these days? Nothing major but my wife and I both said, "Aww man"!!![]()
Odd. I thought that people who enjoyed that kind of movie wouldn't care about gay scenes.
So you hated it?
You couldn't possibly liked the plot as it was horrible.
The flying around was most definitely what didn't make this movie a total waste of my time.
The movie was an Akira ripoff.
The part with the flying was cool, but the special effects were mediocre as a whole, especially at the climax.
Akira the 80s animated movie?
Never seeing that movie but have always heard good things about it. Might DL it right now.
Truth.
, I guess stereotyping doesn't work this time! It's a basically a musical much like Grease. I don't remember there being a "gay" scene! One of my favorite musicals is Jesus Christ Superstart. Again, no gay scene in that one either! I would understand your stereotyping if this movie was during the disco era, but it wasn't. Oh well, almost great movie though!!

The FX blows aways most films these days. This was done on a 12 million budget too. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the film was and how anti superhero it was.
From Paris with Love 7/10
Faster 7.5/10
Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows: 7/10
one of the problems with this movie is the same as the first: with the British accents, it takes a bit of effort to keep up with the dialogue and because at times they speak in an almost muffled voice, it was an even greater effort.
Had to rewind several times to try to understand what was said and also try to figure out the plot.
And the ending sucked ass.
Other then that, good stuff
I started watching movies and used the sub les and you'd be surprised just how much dialogue you miss without them. I actually got used to it and it feels odd when I don't use the sub les.
Some people don't like the sub les because they are distracting but if you get used to it it becomes second nature.
I don't have a problem with accents, in general, but have been watching most DVDs/BluRays with sub les for a while now. They're mixed horribly. Especially if you don't have surround sound. Turn the volume up loud enough to hear the dialog clearly, and background noises are ear splitting. Keep the volume low enough to avoid deafness and angry neighbors, and everyone talks in a whisper. My guess is that may be the root of your problem, rather than the accents, because it was plenty clear in the theaters. Only the guy who plays Lestrade has a particularly thick London accent.
The confrontation/fight between Moriarty and Holmes at Reichenbach Falls and the faked death are taken from "The Final Problem," one of Doyle's original stories. It was the one moment where I thought Richie's slow/fast motion fight gimmick felt a bit out of place, though. I can buy Robert Downey, Jr. as a Holmes who knows his way around a row, but Jared Harris is a tougher sell.
Sounds about right.
Turning on sub les as a solution sounds like a sucky viewing experience, but I'll try it.
Harris was Moriarty? I thought they could have casted that part with a better actor for sure. The confrontation/fight between Moriarty and Holmes at Reichenbach Falls and the faked death are taken from "The Final Problem," one of Doyle's original stories. I still thought the ending sucked. Would have liked to have seen more detail about how he made it after that jump over the falls, even if it was shown after the fact.
You are absolutely correct and if you listen to the DVD through your TV, then in most cases there's no real solution (except the sub les, obviously). If you use a surround receiver most have a "night mode" button/setting, that will actually enhance the dialogues and dampen the FX (most noticeably the sub-woofer).
This has annoyed me for years, since there's enough space on the discs to simply add a normal stereo audio mix without the FXs and allow this choice for the viewer. This used to be the norm in early DVDs, but nowadays is quite rare.
