I just got back from Omaha, was there for the College World Series. Me and my buddies went chasing on Monday. We didn't get quite as close as the TIVbut I did get to see my first tornado on Monday.
That storm actually formed a couple of different twisters. We intercepted at Henderson, NE, and followed it north/northeast past Bradshaw, Benedict, Stromsberg, Osceola. Damage surveys had this at an EF-2, and finishing as an EF-3!
Second twister was Spring Creek, Monroe, Humphrey, Madison. Actually think that was two different ones, we lost a lot a lot of ground at Silver Creek. Stopped to let several emergency responder vehicles go by to a couple of collapsed houses, and the river crossing was a PITA.
Was glad to hear when we got back to the hotel that night that no one was hurt
We also drove through Fremont, NE on the way back to Omaha shortly after a severe storm went through there. We ate some dinner and the people at the restaurant told us they were pretty sure that a tornado went through there.
We went and looked at the damage where they told us to go look - lots of trees down, several fences, and that was all I could see in the rain/dark. Turned in a damage report to the NWS back at the hotel. They went out and checked the next day and came back with an EF-1 after initially categorizing as straightline winds on Monday evening.
Closest we got was about three miles from the twister, will throw up some pics when I get fully recovered from the trip.
good stuff, especially the "no one was hurt'' part![]()

Saw video of one in Slovenia last week as well.
Nebraska 8-11
New season starts tonight. Storm Chasers special at 8 then the first episode of the new season at 9. Should be incredible this season.
Could get serious today.
Can't remember a day that was as hyped as this. Nothing much happening yet as far as major tornadoes go
pretty impressive looking tornado that's out in the middle of nowhere in KS
I'd say last April's huge outbreak was the most "hyped" day I've ever seen.
Massive tornado on the ground just south of OKC
http://imapweather.com/ for livestream chaser cam
Been watching this thing on the ground for over 10 minutes

Bad news
Devastating![]()
I've never seen anything like this before.
Don't see any video in the link
Scroll out on the map. Look for Oklahoma and you'll see a bunch of little cars clustered on the map. Mouse over to see which ones are streaming
Wow, hope they can rescue those kids in the elementary school
