    Great game

And what's with Terry slipping ?

Remember the penalty he misses in the CL Final?
The pass from Malouda was pretty stupid anyway, he put Terry in a very vulnerable spot..it kind of looked like he slipped due out of shock at that pass.

RVP keeps putting them in, he's a monster.

I have a soft spot for Arsenal now, Chelski

    sup NASpurs
It's a very likeable team and you can't help but root for them, I know, same thing happened to me

I just watched the game, avoiding all spoilers throughout the day and holy crap I'm giddy like a school girl. The last RVP goal made me jump all throughout the house yelling haha.

The goals were great but Arsenal's second half defense was excellent, well maybe not excellent but better than Chelsea's.

Ramsey played ing great. I was on his case about a month and a half ago but now he's turned the corner. What can you say about RVP that hasn't been said? My mind is all over the place, too excited!

I'm saving this game in the archive.

Barcelona's not included there, because they only got Cesc back.

IMO TBH FWIW Arsenal is back on track. They aren't supposed to be championship contenders this year with the losses of Nasri and Cesc. They're where they are supposed to be -- a mid-table team.

Those three home wins were a great starting point.

It really was a crazy game. I can't remember seeing a Chelsea team this bad defensively. They actually were worse than Arsenal, who at least put in a decent shift in the second half.
This second half was pretty good from Arsenal overall, as it showed how good a counter-attacking team they can be when Ramsey, Walcott and Gervinho are all playing well.
Let's hope this win will do this mentally frail team some good - and let's hope RvP stays, as he is in beast mode (even though his goals yesterday were pretty easy to take, well, the first two anyway) and the backbone of this Arsenal squad.

Not the end of the world for Villas-Boas and Chelsea, but they do have a lot of shaping up to do...

Arsenal, among other EPL teams, are always linked with Dortmund's Mario Gotze. He's a 19 year old kid with a tremendous world class type player upside apparently. Honestly I don't know enough about German football. Would he be a great "get" for Arsenal? I also read that Arsenal sent scouts to see Lukas Podolski and that Arsenal is "ready to spend up to £20 Million" for him.

Can you tell me anything about these two players, if they're realistic options for the team and how would they fit in this Arsenal team? Should I just lay off the blogs and not believe everything? lol

What do you all think of Newcastle? They have been holding steady at number 4, getting good results. Best defense of the Premiere League? They have received only 6 goals.

You don't know about Podolski? He always seems to play well for Germany from the games I've seen, but I've never known a thing about his club career.

Beckenbauer said Mario Gotze is Germany's Messi but the stuff I've seen from him doesn't fit the bill, tbh.

country his good, but club he plays on teams or never exposed on tv to be marketed...

doesnt help much when most of germanys best play in germany but not a very exciting league to watch btw, and the 2 top teams is always filled with the NT squad players....hence most of them dont wanna play outside germany due to security, financial reasons and NT squad selection...

hence 20m is something arsenal doesnt have or else they wouldve bought whoever they were targeting b4 the deadline...mata for example

Goetze is a future crack. Podolski is good with the NT but he didn't succeed in bayern and went back to his former team (koln). 20M is too high for him. Scheiny is a world class midfielder.

My knowledge of the German team is lacking. Of the current squad, all I know about is Gomez and Ozil. I really should keep up to date with them.

So Gotze is Germany's Messi? Wow those are some strong words. The dude looks like a straight out kid and he is, he's just 19 and from watching his highlights on youtube, he does have impressive skills indeed. I just don't know how people tend to evaluate players that are really young and proclaim them to be the next *insert name*. We've seen those exclamations fail before in the past but this kid, he does get a lot of praise and managers are licking their chops for him.

Another player that is always mentioned for Arsenal but now all the EPL teams want him too is Eden Hazard.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...en-Hazard.html

    PSG wants to offer £45m
    for him.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old forward for some time, while Premier League leaders City have also ramped up their interest with development executive Patrick Vieira recently sent on a scouting mission to watch Hazard.

But all that could be in vain with Qatari-backed PSG expected to offer £45m this January, more even than Real Madrid had been considering making available.

    Yup

The opposing goalkeeper deserved better than the loss, though, he was amazing in that match

I guess it's hard to be into the German league when there's a few others that are better, and like someone mentioned, marketing/availability of games. I watched part of Bayern-Nuremberg this weekend and Sweinsteiger had a great goal from distance, he has a really powerful shot. Immediately after they commented on how much he scores and it was an alarming rate for a defensive mid. Of course he plays for Bayern Munich which happens to be way stronger than any other Bundesliga team right now, but he's a good scorer nonetheless. I was surprised to hear that he's only 26 or 27 years old, I thought he was closer to 30.

No way is Podolski worth 20mil to Arsenal, he's good, but not great. Outside Köln and german nt he's been average. He would be no upgrade over Walcott or Arshavin and that's a lot of money for a backup.

Well, Arsenal were heavily linked with Götze this summer, and allegedly, they bid something like 20+ million for him.
Götze is an unbelievable talent; there hasn't been a player this talented (in his way) for a very long time in Germany. Getting him would be great for Arsenal, but I don't know if they will or would be able to get him (money, for one, but also the fact that there are other clubs more interesting and promising to go to than Arsenal these days). He played an unbelievable season last year (was probably even better than Cesc was at the same age), but has cooled down a little bit (as Dortmund have in general). But there is no doubt about his potential to be a world class player.

As for Podolski, I don't rate him that highly. He has always been good for the German NT, but the one time he played for a big club (Bayern Munich), it was pretty much a disaster. I wouldn't really want him at Arsenal (I don't think he would do good abroad anyway, he is very much attached to the region he is coming from), and 20 million would be ridiculous. He isn't worth that much, not even close.
