When my son comes home with a bad grade I am disappointed because I know he can do better, but I still love him to death.
To extend your analogy, do you see him get a D+ in science in ONE quarter or ONE paper and then immediately throw his chemistry sets and microscopes and telescopes out the window and tell him to stop dreaming about a career in any of the sciences? Because clearly one bad day is indicative of his overall potential as a person, right? Right? Because that's exactly what you're saying here. Might as well blow the team up because Portland and Indiana beat them in December.

And now you've resorted to popcorn gifs and putting words in my mouth because you can't refute anything I'm saying. The only difference is, you actually enjoy talking about your "favorite team".

You're "lowering expectations" based on two games. In December. How is that not the same thing?

I actually said that in kind of agreeing with you that maybe it was me, where I have my expectations to high.

Another loss to an elite team. Spurs are fool's gold.
ugh no, the spurs defense is officially overrated and only good against scrub teams
as is, the spurs just aren't an elite team anymore
    this team is finished tbh
not buying it tbh, spurs won't even sniff the wcf without home court
we suck, tbh. inflated record by beatng scrub teams, tbh.
Gee, I dunno where I would have gotten the idea that you're talking .

Why are you setting expectations based on completely meaningless regular season games?

Hey, remember last year in that ultra important game against Miami where Pop sat the starters? That was worth as much as this game was tonight.

not really, i always stick around even if they're getting on. what am i saying that is so wrong? just because i think the spurs are finished and need to rebuild doesn't mean im not a fan
In your eyes, the 2012-2013 season was a waste (your words - not mine). I assume that means you wasted your time watching them because they came up short IN THE FINALS. Guess what pal, this organization has been the best playing/best managed pro team for the last 17 years (since Tim Duncan came here). That's not just the NBA, that is the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL - all of them.......

I enjoyed watching the Spurs overachieve and almost win a championship last year. I did not waste my time following them. 28 or 29 NBA teams would trade places with the Spurs in a New York minute. It sounds like you are jumping ship and the season is barely underway and they are 2nd in the Western Conference. Will you show up when the Spurs are a truly bad team in 2 or 3 years- You probably aren't even old enough to remember a truly BAD Spurs team. There have frankly been very few bad teams in SA. I still go and watch them play when they win 20 games like in 1996.

You would make a good Laker or Heat fan frankly.

You, as a "Fan" should appreciate what we have here a little more than you do.

I think you're missing the point. This game was seen as a measuring stick to see if the Spurs could still hang with an elite team. As of now, the Spurs have proven that they can't. Also losing to top tier teams exposes your teams flaws, so I for one think this game did mean something.

Hey! Remember when you said our team would never make it out of the second round of the playoffs last year?

    Your "measuring sticks" are hilarious.

So you see my point. If Pop is willing to set a regular season game on fire, why would you think he's doing anything besides using tonight as a learning tool? He doesn't care what the final score is, really. We're 15-4 definitely going to be at least a top 3 seed in the West barring injury. Why play your cards now when you don't have to?

That said, gotta hand it to Indy. They've done a of a job emulating our system to bring in solid players who know their role.

Spurs Pacers would be a ridiculously awesome Finals, if for no other reason than for watching David Stern hang himself by game 3.
