The next gen game I'm most excited for this year is Assassin's Creed. Thank god they're also releasing it on 360.
Quick question on LCD HDTV's..... Is 6ms good for a TV that's gonna be used mainly for video games and HD sports? I notice 8ms seems to be the norm on most hd sets.
Those statistics, and some others like contrast ratio, can be very inaccurate. Also, a lot of times these numbers are calculated by the maunufacturer themselves and can vary from set to set. But as for gaming or fast-action scenes, generally anything around or under 8ms is just fine.

the new Command and Conquer for 360 comes out on Tuesday, I've never played a C&C game, but the demo on Marketplace was interesting. Should I play an older PC version first, before I dump $60 on the new one?

WTF is with the Wii? When am I going to be able to find one in a store? Any tips? Is it worth it, or should I just go with the 360?

As far as getting the 360, the elite HD model with the 120GB HD came out recently, I've heard those have been in stock. Because unless Nintendo starts getting 3rd party les that utilize the motion control, there's not much more than Mario,Zelda and Wii Sports to really take advantage of the unique controls.

As you can probably tell I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I have some insurance money from a stolen XBox and I'm looking for a good replacement.
I think all of them have some implementation, but as far as complete control, I think only the first party les use it extensively. It kinda sucks for the people who bought it for that gimmick alone.
I heard it's because it takes a relatively short time for developers to make a game for 360/PS3 compared to having to adapt the control for Wii. You'd think since PS3 has motion control too, it'd be easy.
Take EA for instance, Madden is gonna sell regardless, so why waste time configuring the control to Wii if it isn't gonna affect your sales anyway?
You had an original Xbox? If your original games didn't get stolen, I'd get the 360, because you'll have a huge library to choose from. On the Wii, Wii Sports will get old after a couple of weeks, the Mario and Zelda games are "wii-makes" from Gamecube games.
My games got stolen too (and I only had three games anyway)...

If you do get a 360, make sure you get the Elite, only a little more for 6X the HD space and HDMI output.
P.S. Make sure you get Forza Motorsport 2 when it's released at the end of this month, so you can learn how to merge correctly.

What games do you regularly play on Live?
Currently, just GRAW2 ... it's the one I have the most fun with and can play casually. I actually just have 3 games, PGR3, NBA2k7 and GRAW2 ... chances are I'm going to trade in PGR3 & NBA2k7 because of Forza coming out and it can replace PGR3 ... and I just don't play the basketball enough, I'd prefer something like homecourt.
Anyone else d/l the new fall update on 360?
Some nice features I've noticed so far include the marketplace blade, auto shut down, and it tells you what game you're playing on the games blade.
It's the spring update - it includes the new blade, auto shut down (though my Elite already had that,) low powered download mode, displaying game on the play game button, new achievement notification (tells you which achievement you unlocked,) Windows Messenger Live is now there (they will be selling the thumb keyboard this summer.)

Graw2 is fun, Forza's alright although I prefer the cars and cityscapes of PGR3. and the *anger release* of Burnout Revenge
Ponky, with your sig, you should know that every FPS in the world pales in comparison to Counterstrike.
Gears is damn pretty to look at, but there is NO gaming experience like pulling off three perfect headshots in a row, spinning while whipping out a pistol, and shooting the enemy who was trying for a perfect headshot on you from behind.
This is all possible because of the precision a mouse offers and the top-notch gameplay of CS.
I like Gears, and I'll get it in due time ... Kinda paying off an engagement ring and eye surgery at the moment. I'm interested in Forza2 so that I can mod cars, which you can't do in PGR3.
Also, I don't like Halo1or2 ... maybe I'll get 3, who knows ...
