He should be a head coach again, be a very smart move for Texas State to grab him if they can. He could build something solid there for a few years until a bigger program grabbed him.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see him go to the FSU or Bama as a OC.

If I was Kliff and Texas St called I'd let the phone keep on ringing. Texas St needs a toilet-flushing in a bad way within the administration, starting on top with a new AD.

Chuck Strong is apparently on the hot seat. Found this story on a USF site....if you backdated the article 2 years, did an auto replace of Bulls with Horns, you wouldn't know the difference. The writer details all of Charlie's faults and man are they similar! And right now they are getting him for a bargain thanks to that awful contract we gave him.

I would be shocked, as I think that talk is mostly coming from Mack's camp to make it appear as if he's still coveted.

If he is really mixed up he may not need to be with us. A few bad practices, Hand gets on him, he regrets being in Austin. Let someone else deal with that. If this is really his personality. I want Herman to be completely immersed in his culture thing. If he really covets bright kids with good families and undying loyalty, let him win or lose with that.

Mack really needs that reinforcement? At his age.... He brought our program back. He is right behind Darrell Royal as most significant coach we have ever had. Man, I did not know he was that fragile. Or maybe his camp is not really him.

It's looking like Kingsbury is out after the loss today, of course he may have been gone already. Who's on the rumor board in Lubbock to be the next head coach? I heard Clemson DC Brent Venables may be the guy. That's unless K State grabs him first, which wouldn't surprise me due to his prior affiliation there.

Pretty much it. Kirby Hocutt and Venables are good buds. I think it'd be a great hire if they can find an OC to keep the Air Raid going.

Edit: , it would be a great hire regardless. The problem for Tech would be in scraping up enough cash to pull him to Lubbock. He's already making more than 2mill a year as a DC.
