Bump for David West
This lucky thread worked for LMA, now give us West and Manu...
Manu is really playing it up by not announcing.. Where is all the hate for him taking so long to decide.
I could never hate on Manu, but it is taking a while....
Agreed. Let's repurpose to the Spurs offseason thread. Some mod can change the le if needed right?
Right. He has pretty much everything he needs to decide. I don't know what's left to contemplate. Not that he needs to make the decision now, but it would be nice to have.
I think he is closer to retirement than we realize. Former NBA guys say once you start thinking about retirement your halfway to retiring.
We also talked about alternatives to Aldridge. Alternatives to West? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
I agree. Absolutely nothing he's said (that I've seen) since the end of the season implied he was coming back. We're all relying on what Pop said, what Manu's brother implied, etc. To me he sounds done and perhaps the Spurs are trying to change his mind and asking him to "give it a couple days" more. Hence, the delay.
Obviously, all speculation on my part. But, hey, what are message boards for?![]()
He's been talking that way since 2013. Given the way things ended last season and the potential to come back with a big free agent splash I would think he would want to come back.. Anyway you shake it, he's had sufficient time to decide and he doesn't seem like the kind of person to string the Spurs along
Don't worry, if Manu comes back, there will be plenty of Monday-morning QB fans that will blame Manu for any lack of team success because "his heart wasn't in it".
Thing is people were ing about TP playing with NT, the one year he had a summer off it went totally North. He will be back this year playing with NT with reinforced training, hope this will bring him back to a decent level
At this point it's probably best suited to head off into retirement and let the team know you have your work cut out for you to find pieces. If it's taking this long to decide then he probably doesn't want to come back.
Clutchfans still arguing that Montejunas and Howard will trump a Spurs lineup
I think Manu wants to retire after the 2016 Olympics. As with most of these pieces (LMA/Green/Splitter/Duncan), I imagine the Spurs already have an idea about Manu's return, and are just waiting to see how the dominoes fall. There's no reason for an official announcement from Manu just yet.
This thread shouldn´t be on the middle of the second page:
64 pts for the spurs![]()

Still surprising to hear erroneous idea Portland had been informed LaMarcus Aldridge was leaving. Not so -- not until eve of choosing Spurs.
I was clearly hacked.
freaking hackers.
Sucks tbh.
Laremy Tunsil, is that you?
