I also don't see an off-ramp for Putin right now at all. It's beyond clear he ed up, the question is what's the fix that doesn't involve some home accident where he ends up impaled.

Right, there is nothing for him to do now except keep punching. Me? I'm praying his purported problems are American Intel horse still trying to talk him out of this. If (it's) the truth at even 50% it's gonna be a problem. Again, I pray it's pure 90% horse and he's right as the post.
...and that's the only way Biden gets a clean sweep if it Putin is taken out, or, does the Dutch. I wouldn't imagine he'd take the latter route.

Not going to lie though, it does mirror some fascist US presidents claiming "you're either with us or against us", etc, but none of those guys ever stayed 20+ years in power. Some barely made it 4 years...

Don't think anybody here thinks Putin folds. But Brandon does indeed has put Putin in a chokehold at this point, the only question really is what's the off ramp for Russia. Putin might not want to give up, but he can be removed...
...but removing him isn't going to lessen the punishment the West is going to inflict on the next in line and all the others who have been complicit. You're gonna have war crime trials, like Nuremberg, executions etc, + the inquisition of Donald J. Trump after the 4th of July...on the 5th of July.
Your average Russian isn't fighting any wars, they don't need any pep talk. They're just seeing how their savings decay and disappear, and how they can no longer protect themselves from their leader's ego by buying US dollars, like any savvy Russian does.
This guy isn't Lenin nor Stalin, and we don't live in those times anymore either. This is especially true in a country like Russia with a long history of corruption. We'll see soon enough whether he's as important as he think he is.
I think this depends on what things look like with Putin out of the picture. Does Russia pull from Ukraine. What concessions need to be made. Elections in Russia won't bring freedoms, not like the 90s anyways, but they don't have to. Just removing the crazy uncle from the wheel might be good enough. We'll see.

The X factor is China,,,I don't think he pulls the move against Ukraine without China in his corner. And China can act neutral all they want but no one should trust them. Russia is all in and I don't think there is an off ramp and I don't know if he can be removed short of assassination,,,his rigged elections and some distorted semblance of democracy has been thrown out the window. He has said he is the boss and will stay that way until they drag his cold dead body out of office with this move,,,
(They're) gonna want to be made whole to just a minute before Biden started taking their . If they don't get that assurance they're is no upside to dumping Putin. Would Biden make them that promise? Nooooooooo, he ain't going to give them all that back. He'll start 'em off fresh from THAT day forward + penalties and fees, but he ain't giving them "back pay." China puts no money in to help Ukraine,,,,also doesn't denounce Russia and has no skin in the game. They sit back with popcorn and watch their two biggest challengers to world supremacy go at it. China is playing chess,,,the rest of us are playing checkers,,,,
Well, we're discussing assassination indeed. Not by the US, mind you, this would have to come internally from Russia itself. I don't think people in general give Russians enough credit though.
They've seen this movie before, many times. Russia has a rich history of revolutions as well. Heck, Ukraine is actually teaching the average Russian a lesson on what's possible. NATO, the EU or the US couldn't stage a story this good that paints them in such a great light.
The problem with China for Russia is that China is basically 10x bigger than them economically. Russia would basically be a satellite state of China at this point, something I'm sure China would take, but I don't think is what Russia is thinking about when it comes to making Russia great again.
China playing neutral was completely expected as well. It would've been bold if they didn't. They've been playing the same game with North Korea, and if that's what the Russian future looks like, I'm pretty sure the US will take it.
The US (or Europe for that matter) hasn't fired a bullet or put a boot on the ground here. Just switching off some computers and sending weapons over got Russia thinking about a long ass invasion and how they're going to feed their people. That's indeed 15D chess.
China is actually a great partner to the US, and we live in a mutually beneficial relationship, something China is well aware of and they don't want to mess with.
Some things never change though, like the world laughing in unison at France, tbh
