What happens is you get this letter, which we will make fun of right now. As we said, either the dumb wrote this himself in Sharpie on paper towels and Big Mac wrappers, or maybe Stephanie Grisham got drunk (no she never) and scrawled it out for him. It won't be until this evening. They do a bunch of procedural and debating for the first part of the day, which will be a complete waste of time as it will be more of the same we've been listening to for months.
Just ing vote and get it over with.
The thing to remember here is that, for Republicans, there will be no real incentive to actually vote their conscience, since that is all cost and no gain, politically.
The outcome is mostly forgone, so a no vote is easy. The cost of a "yes" vote, if they privately think he should be impeached, is that they will be primaried out at the first opportunity, and will lose all power within the congress as the rest of the Republicans turn on them.
The Republican party will, after this vote, pretty much be the Trump Party. Of Trump, by Trump, and for Trump. They are actively pushing for dictatorship at this point, and not being overly subtle about it.
