Danny might need to latch onto Kawhi and hope it earns him another decent contract.

Danny Green has sucked for about 3 years now .. Defense is still ok but he's basically Andre Roberson with slightly worse defense.

Kawhi will get back to being the second best player in the league imo.

YGWHI is probably the forum's biggest Kawhi ball washer, and he said he looks done after the first TOR game. If there is something permanently wrong, then his group is doubly stupid. No one will pay him big next summer. He'll be sorting through MLE offers, at best.

The Spurs would have paid him for another contract, and put him back into a role like 2014, where he wasn't the focus and expected to carry the team. They take care of their own, financially, on the back end. They always have.
I pretty much agree with Daslicer's takes. He's just rusty.

Also, like I said in reply to Ygwhi on the previous page - Way too early to be saying stuff like that. I'd give Kawhi at least one third of a season before drawing any of those conclusions, but already after this game earlier today, I don't think Kawhi is going to need anywhere near that much time to regain his form. If he stays healthy, his form will come, and by the end of the season he could end up being a Megastar in Toronto and the NBA.

If it hurts now for a lot of Spurs fans, it could sting by the end of the season. It really sucks the team had to trade him. I would have preferred to play out the season with him and try and change his mind.

People saying kawhi is washed up is idiotic. As big of a he is off the court, he is an absolute killer on it and a top 3 player. Period. It cant be spun. Those are the facts

Yeah man. If Kawhi was playing like he did in game one of the preseason after one third or halfway through the season, you could draw that conclusion, but unfortunately for those people saying he looked done after one preseason game, well, he already looked way better in game two of the preseason.

Kawhi doesn't look like he has much legs and is not conditioned but I think he will play himself into form sooner than later.

just watch the raptors vs highlights

given t hat its only preseason....

he looks done defensively man, that shut down m2m defense or attempting to steal with a reach in..u dont see him do that ...

and when his chasing his man around screens, u know he always has a arm in the air to deflect a ball if a pass comes from his blindspot... u dont see him raise his hands no more...

Market size is overrated. Show me all those Lowry and DeRozen endorsements, not to mention all those failed playoff appearances and then compare it to players like Durant and Westbrook from when they both played for the small market Thunder. The player can play for whomever he wants and still make tons of money in endorsements. He just has to be marketable and Leonard is just the opposite, a recluse with a controlling uncle that has already costed him Millions of dollars.

He's not staying in Toronto after this season even if LA burned to the ground. A couple of fake, choreographed smiles in front of a camera isn't going to change that.
I actually agree with you. But it certainly helps. I'm fairly certain local endorsements in the LA market make you a lot more money than a few HEB commercials. Also look at all the national advertising the Clips trio has gotten despite never getting past the second round. Although in agreement with you, they are alot more engaging on screen..With regards to DeRozen, I kind of get the impression he is not all that interested in being a huge "brand".

I do think Leonard and Co. blame the Spurs for mismanging his injury (From what little I can gleam this is debatable) and not marketing him. I also think they (Leonard, entourage and Uncle) percieve market size as important. All this seems farcical as Kawhi, as you have pointed out, is reclusive and even awkward in press encounters. It will be interesting at the end summer 2019 when Kawhi signs with whomever, to calculate how much the ole uncle has cost him.

It’s too early to say. But regardless he will never be the top 3 player he was with the Spurs. Without a great system, he’s just another Pippen without a Jordan, which Lowry is not. Kawhitter had the luxury of playing with Duncan, Manu and Tony, all alpha who willed to win, and a HOF coach who could design a beautiful game, the ONLY collective way to beat a dream team with prime Lebron. Unless he plays with Stevens, Kerr or Brown or along side a Superstar, he will be exposed and will lose his stock. Let’s see him do his forced fake laugh then

1-Not really, I guess Apa is still here under other accounts.
2-I would say "biggest fan of Kawhi's game" is more appropriate

and he said he looks done after the first TOR game.
An almost 90% FT shooter in 2016 and 2017 can't even make a single FT in 2018. FTs are about legs, for "a reason" he can't get his legs under him...

Rust is timing. Rust is your shot. Rust isn’t your lift. His legs should be fresh. He hasn’t played a ing game in 10 months.

From what I saw, he doesn't have the same lift anymore. It didn't seem to hurt his efficiency though. That's the part I'm gonna miss the most about him.

He’s obviously very rusty and is going to need time to get into game shape. By the new year he should be playing like an all nba player I imagine

It’s really quite devastating to lose a player of his caliber
