Wemby seems a bit soft mentally. This is why you need to add another all star level player or two with him to take the pressure off him.

You aren't winning anything with him and a bunch of role players.
Yeah, I think he has David's personality but that is cool, but I do agree we definitely need more talent and when we ready get some junk yard dog vets to surround him.

Wemby will prob press a bit early on to try and impress everyone and wind up going like 4-12 from the field or some and everyone on Twitter will call him overrated and a bust. That’s my guess.

Hate that I called this before the game tbh.

    I disagree
I think he is very compe ive

He is just downplaying it, trying to adjust to the new environment

It’s nice having a player who can still find a way to be a + if shot isn’t falling. Thats what good players do. Shots don’t fall sometimes, find a way to not lose and not be an empty stats guy who is always a -10 in the box score despite scoring 20 points.

He needs work. But he's a jumpshooter and supposedly someone who is going to make bull difficult shots when it's needed most. There will be games where he chucks but sucks. And then there will be games where he has forty.

If I could adjust his sliders, I would make him a little bit more of an inside scorer, but I don't think he'll be 2-13 every night. More like 9/20, which isn't great, but again, he is a jumpshooter.

If the bull shot-making and defense is there, he'll be worth it.

Underappreciated facet of this game: the Hornets will be looking for revenge following their previous loss. That, and Wemby potentially being distracted by the whole Spears situation, could make this game uglier than many of us hope.
What do you know, I’m right again.

C- is generous brotha… 2-13 from the field. 4 turnovers, multiple missed layups, 1/6 from 3 including an air-ball, etc. That was about as bad an offensive debut as anyone could’ve imagined tbh.

Thankfully his defense was great despite that poster.
Bumped it up a bit due to his great passing and slick handles, and also taking into account the fact that he needs time to adjust.

Seems more like Tim to me but more of an extrovert.

You mean, doesnt want to play center? Is he not a center because hes playing a lot on the perimeter? Because he’s failing miserably doing that. Which means you should have come to a different conclusion.
I was insinuating he needs a real 5 next to him. He’s a 4. I did not suggest he become a perimeter player. He’s not gonna want to bang and the Spurs shouldn’t want that either.

He can't be a wimp and afraid to play inside and mix it up some. He needs to use his size to an advantage and learn how to get and hold his position.

I'm not saying he can't ever roam away from the basket but he has to go inside too.

5 blocks, a killer pass or two, if his shot falls, we'll be good.

The spacing was really atrocious. Many times when he got the ball, the other players would be too close to him clogging up the lane. He ended him forcing up a few contested shots because of this.

Just watched the game. As expected it was a struggle and sadly, in the second half, I was more like Wemby better pass the ball quickly to not embarass himself even more.
What I saw was initial good ballhandling with the first step, but then he gets into trouble immediately. His shooting was bad, but thats a case of nerves and not being ready conditioning wise. Still, he should not airball threes. Otherwise I saw week screens and mediocre rebounding. The shotblocking is great and I can see him immediately be the league leader in blocks in his rookie season.

You knew it was gonna be an off night when he missed that dunk early on.

I didn't think it was even possible for a 7'4 man to miss a dunk, but here we are!

Hey, James Harden has had a lot of 2-for-13 games too! Chin up, Victor. (But don't be like Harden, though.)
