The people of Minnesota are doing their part. There was remarkable public mobilization in Chicago and LA too. Eyes on the street and whistles have blunted official oppression to no small degree.
Walz is probably afraid of triggering the Insurrection Act, but I don't see why other Dem politicians can't try to like, you know, do political things and use their power to stop a lawless and tyrannical regime.
Not a single major democrat politician is out there leading protests. That tells you all you need to know about so called "opposition". In Hungary, Serbia, anywhere really where protests are allowed... you always have politicians and opposition organizing and leading the protests. In USA the only issue the democrats have is them not being in charge. Trump's policies and methods are not a problem for them.

It appears that this officer managed to disarm the suspect prior to the first shots.
