It's a different ball game on Monday. The Spurs at home are always tougher
Well, I hope this win finally wakes them up. Pop will be taking a wine bottle to bed tonight after this.
Thanks

noon sunday
The Spurs did have a nice lead before the third quarter...I know Manu had 3 fouls, but he is smart enough to play through them. So I don't get why Pop started Finley instead of Manu...that's when the Spurs lead disappeared, and the Nuggets went off...I think the Spurs could have even built on a Spurs lead if Manu had started the second half...to make the margin a bit higher...
Do you think that was also another coaching error?
I don't know about Fin(I think Pop put him there for his scoring),
but yeah on Vaughn who can only fill just 1 foul on his stat sheet.![]()
Terrible bet! In Denver on second of a b-2-b... what were you thinking???
As for the loss, meh. They played a terrible second half, looked tired and lost, but they'll be back against the Suns.
I couldn't watch the game today even though they were showing it on ESPN here... which pisses me off to no end! So what happened?? Who is this loss on? Pop? I don't like to judge by boxscores alone, but did Tony play as bad as his boxscore suggests? What's the deal?
Dissappointed in Parker most of all, he hardly probed the lane to see what was available like he was doing in the New Jersey games. He needs to get his consistency back. A halfway decent game from him would probably make this a win. Tim and Manu showed up. Spurs need the big *three* in big games if the bench isn't doing it.
too many turnovers from the team, not enough energy in the 2nd half, can't buy any calls, pop's weird rotation, pop's weird lineups, pop's weird rotation...
pop starting finley on melo at the 3rd Q.![]()
At some point I started thinking that maybe they are so concentrated on kicking some suns asses on the next game that they just want to get this one off their backs without getting too tired... but, that just can`t be right...can it?
I'd say the loss is pretty much on everyone(including Pop) except for Tim and Manu. I thought they both played really good. Manu kept the Spurs in the game and gave them that comfortable lead before halftime...then Pop decided to start Finley for the third quarter(Manu had 3 fouls), and it kind of went down the hill...their lead evaporated basically.
TP was definitely really off tonight...
There was a stretch there where the Spurs turned the ball over 3 times in a row...that was the ballgame right there...but it never should've gotten to that point...the Spurs had an 8-point lead at the half...why the did Pop go away from the lineup that was working???
This one's on Pop...
Spurs are solid, its all good.
We all right.
its not the playoffs, Denver is trying to get into the playoffs, we still trying to stay healthy into the playoffs
we are cool.
Apart from the fatal Bowen-Melo move, those TOs in the 3rd quarter were HORRENDOUS - lack of effort TOs. Twice the ball was dropped out of bounds. Twice an easy pass around the horn was intercepted for breakaway layup.
And then there was Najera who absolutely KILLED us tonight. Layup after layup, and left open for those 3s you just knew he'd drain them.
Terrible performance, but uncharacteristic. Spurs need to make shots to beat the zone, and make better passes out of the doubles, and this is a different game.
Anyway, on to Phoenix.
I had the Spurs winning tonight and losing to the Suns. Now I think the Spurs are gonna be pissed and blow out the Suns...it's gonna be ugly...just watch...
^I sure hope they do....that will be lovelyyyyyy
God would you get off of it already.
.
please beat the Suns.
Would be awesome if the Nuggets could catch Suns/Mavs and Warriors
Nuggets gotta take care of the Jazz in Utah thoughToughest game of the season
Not going to read through the whole gameday thread but here's some of my thoughts.
Najera killed the Spurs inside and out. I really thought Bonner deserved some minutes to match his hustle and energy.
Thomas needed to play more while Horry needed to play less.
Switching Finley on Melo cause of worry that Ginobli would pick up his 4th foul early in the 3rd was a mistake. I think you have to take your chances and make adjustments if he picks up his 4th.
Bowen needed more time while Udoka needed less. I wasn't impressed with him much and that's rare for me to say.
I thought Stoudamire did an ok job but Pop elected to go with Vaughn instead. Parker's been playing well but he laid an egg tonight.
You have to give Denver some credit as they hustled and clawed back in the 2nd half while the Spurs wilted under pressure. I also didn't like how many jumpers the Spurs settled for.
