Not really loving the swimming mechanic in Horizon. Very slow and awkward.
I’ve died more times underwater than in combat.
Ratchet added a 4k40 mode. Haven't seen it yet, but received good feedback so far.
I don't know exactly what VRR looks like yet.

you got ripped off too boss
The 1.005 patch for Forbidden West seems to improve how the game looks a lot on my monitor now. Still a pretty noisy picture from the checkerboard rendering but now the trees and some of the crap on the ground don't look oversharpened to anymore. The palm trees looked truly horrific on 1.004, like they were pulled from an XBox 360 game or something, but now they look like what I'd expect on a PS5. Looks good enough that I'd pull it off the backlog if Elden Ring wasn't coming in two days. I'll wait for the reviews tonight and for community feedback Friday to see if I keep my preorder for Elden Ring though.
Wow Elden Ring is piling up 10/10 reviews.
Holy , Elden Ring has a 97 on metacritic, same scores GTA V, Breath of the Wild, and RDR2 got. Puts it in a tie for the sixth best reviewed game of alltime by their metric.
Just got notified that my copy of Elden Ring was shipped. Can't wait.
What are you playing it on?
Playstation / XBox versions go live at 11PM CST tomorrow night. PC at 5PM CST tomorrow.
What I get from the reviews is that this is Zelda-ish, Skyrim-ish Dark Souls. Can't wait to play this game for months.
Just got my collector's edition of Forbidden West...god damn this statue is huge
Still need to finish dying light but gonna fire it up for a bit just to check it out and see what it looks like
Might want to wait a bit.
These day one patch shtick are getting out of hand.
It came out an hour ago on PC. Will be on console in 5 hours.
What system you running? I'm interested how the PC port is.
I meant like gpu. And what resolution.
man might as well render at 4k and downsample to 1440p with that kind of setup, especially considering FromSoft games usually have 60 fps caps.
2 hrs 20 mins Elden Ringbros. Got it on PS5.

Ouch, Elden Ring only 60% positive in 17,455 Steam reviews
Canceled my PS5 pre-order of Elden Ring just like I did with Dying Light 2, JFC everything but Sifu released in a ed up state this month. Pirated on PoorC to test it out and performance not very good even at 1080p with my GTX 1660 Super. I'll get this later on PS5 but not buying until they get this running 60 fps in performance mode. I have too much good in my backlog like Shin Megami Tensei V, Yakuza Like a Dragon, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Demon's Souls PS5, Deathloop, Judgment, etc to jump into Elden Ring before the game is finished.

Should have expected poorly optimized games this month I guess with 2.5 months of omicron decimating the workforce.
So are you playing PS4 BC mode for the steady framerate or PS5 native performance mode? As much as I hate the performance, after pirating the PoorC game, playing for an hour, and having it run like dog on my Haswell Xeon + GTX 1660 Super system it's still a good enough game that I probably will buy the PS5 version today. LOL like every other Dark Souls game though I hate armor, was playing naked so I could roll fast.
probably people complaining that itstoo hard

Nah performance is pretty rough on PC and that's the majority of the complaints. From's pc ports are almost always really bad unless you have hardware way above console spec just to brute force good performance. Even seeing lots of complaints from people with high end hardware this time though.
