This Texas Team has not and will not embarrass itself against anyone.
Honestly, I really want the Alamo bowl.
Sugar = more prestige and a total ass kicking
Alamo = Strong possibility of a 10 win season and momentum going into off season.
I actually like the Sugar Bowl match-up. But I've always been an SEC is overrated kind of guy!
The one angle that I do like is that maybe, we catch Georgia napping or down since they didn't make the playoffs. If that happens then a Sugar bowl win would be huge momentum going into next year.
Hope we can have as many juniors as possible return. You gotta have some help here to sustain success, look at Clemson had their top tier d-lineman return and they’re doing great year in and year out. Maybe all will be well this is progress, a win would have been amazing but at the very least were contending. The guys can now see what a bit of success feels like and maybe we can learn how to hold and sustain success. Let’s get the 10th win in the bowl game!
Watching post Ohio State game and many of the analysts actually believe sooners can jump to 3.
OK, OU is in at 4. Looks like we get a pissed off #5 Georgia team in the Sugar Bowl.
ESPN breaking that Oklahoma made the playoffs. Hope Texas is prepared and ready for Georgia.
It will take a monumental effort and a lot of luck to beat that Georgia team. They are damn good.
F the Bulldogs, I want revenge for 1983, they spoiled our National le, I want to kick their ass.
Yes a team one year removed from being in the le game and barely missing out again this year. It’s what we want though we want to be back in the mix against top teams. We play in a New Years 6 bowl game against a great team, that’s progress! Great way to raise the level of expectations for the future. I think we got a shot at Georgia it won’t be easy and it’ll take cleaning up mistakes that cost us against ou but I think we can play the more balanced teams better. I know they can throw the ball as well but they run much more then big 12 and we are pretty good at defending run.
As one guy said what a great consolation prize for losing the big 12 le, playing Georgia in a New Years 6 game in just Herman’s second year. Of course things could’ve been better but we’re better off today then we’ve been the last several years.
Texas can go toe to toe with Georgia. They have a overall better defense than our offense, but Sam is a guy that doesn't make a lot of mistakes, and our big receivers are going to drive them nuts.
Their offense is better than our defense, but our defense has faced better offenses than Georgia and we do much much better against Qbs that can't run.
I think it's going to be a good matchup, however I think Texas also catches them down, they know they should be in the playoffs and I don't think they will be ready to play, or up for this game.

Georgia’s drastically better than Texas but this will be a consolation game for them missing out on the playoffs. And Fromm is mobile when he has to be but they have really good RBs too. If Georgia is motivated, they will win by double digits. Texas is on par with teams like Kentucky, Missouri, and Florida and Georgia won those games easily.
Lol Kentucky’s qb is terrible. They may have won same games because of snell or whatever the RB’s name is but what I saw of him, he’s really slow.
Kentucky has a mobile QB who’s not a great passer but their defense is really good. Much better than Texas. Texas doesn’t have the talent to compete with a motivated Georgia team.
I now am thinking that Texas doesn't lose any of their juniors. I was sure we lose CJ and LJH, now I think we will bring all our juniors back minus a few guys who transfer out or call it quits. I expect about 5 to 7 of them.
If this is the case, then I think Texas starts the season off ranked in the top 10 somewhere between 4 and 7. I'll have a better idea on this once I see our line in the spring. Texas loses 3 of 5 starters, I want to see how they reload. Defense will be much more interesting, replacing our dline and 2 starting linebackers. I'm really happy to be getting Roach back as well as McCullouch at linebacker. On defense Texas is still a year away from having the depth they need to really dominate the conference and become a national le fixture. This year has proven to me that Herman knows what he is doing and his system is working.
