Steven, so what needs to happen now for our slim chance at the playoffs?
Here's a quick breakdown of the playoff situation:
There are four other teams with an 8-7 record...the Steelers, Ravens, Jets and Broncos. We are behind in the tiebreaker with all of them(head to head, conference record), so it comes down to Houston winning and and three out of the four teams losing for us to get in. Furthermore, the Patriots will be fighting for the 3 seed so they will not be resting any starters against us.
Here is the schedule for those 4 teams:
Steelers at Dolphins
Ravens at Raiders
Bengals at Jets
Chiefs at Broncos
As you can see, the quality of each opponent suggests that it is highly unlikely that three out of four of those teams lose. More than anything, I just want to see us fight to win the Pats game. Going out with a win over a good team at home and a 9-7 record would be a nice consolation prize if we miss the post season.
I pulled this from another site.
Case 1
Texans beat the Patriots, and
Bengals beat the Jets, and
Chiefs beat the Broncos, and
Raiders beat the Ravens
Spot #6 - Wildcard
Case 1
Texans beat the Patriots, and
Bengals beat the Jets, and
Chiefs beat the Broncos
Case 2
Texans beat the Patriots, and
Bengals beat the Jets, and
Raiders beat the Ravens
Case 3
Texans beat the Patriots, and
Chiefs beat the Broncos, and
Raiders beat the Rave
All that is moot because I seriously don't think they will beat the Pats. They would need to play a complete game and they haven't done that all season.
I didn't realize that Houston held the 3rd tiebreaker vs Pittsburgh. That makes things at least a little bit more manageable. If I had to pick one that was most likely I'd say that it would be Cincy beating the Jets and KC beating Denver. KC/Denver is a division game and KC might try to salvage something out of the season with a win. Cincy might or might not rest starters, as they are in the same spot as the Pats...where a win or loss could decide whether they are the 3 or 4 seed.
I knew one of these close losses would come back and bite us in the ass. We had a lot of those games.
Bengals may have nothing to play for by Sunday night. The flex bump definitely hurts the Texans' chances.
How convenietly you forget. Yeah you were here back in August when you texan fans stupidly thought you were break through season bound, then once all but elimnated you checked out with emo quotes such as the following:
AND
Face it, you are not a real fan of the texans. You are just a "fan" when its convenient. As Gonzo put it perfectly, you are a pussy.
You're right...I melted down after the losses. I manned up and admitted I was wrong for it too. But those things have nothing to do with your inaccurate accusation, which is this:
As I said...I admitted my faults and hitched back up to my team when I thought they were out of it, which leads us back to this:
@ you "Manning"(pun intended) up?
You only "admitted" you were wrong when you were made fun of and called a , which you are by the way.
Face it, you are typecast as a fake fan from now on. I may have a dislike for the texans, but I can at least respect the fandom of the likes of Gonzo, Atrain, Djohn, etc. that stick by their team and not post crap like "Thats it for me, Im outta here"
Thats just pussy.
What's the word behind the Texans opening as a TD+ favorite at home? Or is that just to screw with the bettors?
If thats the line, Im running to place a bet on the Pats.
Guess they think the Pats will pull Brady like the Colts pulled Manning.
But the Pats are going to play this game 4 quarters.
You are right again...they were part of the reason I admitted I was wrong and I deserved the bashing. Someone has to be there to smack the out of you when you aren't thinking clearly and posting out of emotion. I'm glad they were.
That's fine. You or anyone else can typecast me as whatever you want to. If anything it gives you just one more reason to keep stalking me, which is something you are always looking for.
I am right about you. And so is everyone else. You are a quitter of sports teams. If you have children, thats not a good example for them.
Oh stalking smack??? Really???![]()
Thats about as fuuny as your recent plagerizing of my words because you can't think for yourself.
No . I love the Texans but it would be hard to pass up free money like that. I don't see why they are favorites in this game. I don't get it.
Looks like AJ, Demeco, Cushing and Mario made the Pro Bowl. I think Mario got in on name recognition alone. He has not had a Pro Bowl year.
Cushing on the other hand is a ing beast. He has Defensive ROY locked down.
I feel bad for OD, he was on pace to make the Pro Bowl. I hope Demeco and OD get paid now. Dunta, him still!!
Indeed...he would have made it pretty easily.
Like I said in the other thread, I don't mind Mario getting this one because he got screwed last year. The Cush/Meco tandem is going to put fear in the hearts of opposing teams for years to come.
Well only if we pay Meco. Imagine if we can get another beast OLB and a DT. Our line will be the best in the NFL.
They will pay him. If they don't and he leaves it will be one of the dumbest moves in franchise history...right up there with hiring Casserly and Capers.
So if he gets beat in pass coverage...is he Burnt Meco?
