Glad I jumped on tickets for that tour just after they went on sale. They were gone before the morning was out.
Inside Texas saying LB Malik Jefferson will be in town with both of his parents.
Glad I jumped on tickets for that tour just after they went on sale. They were gone before the morning was out.
Good news about ticket sales, especially in East Texas.
Quotes from QB Ross Trail, the former Louisville commit, per ESPN.
“I’m hearing a lot from Texas, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Arkansas State and Memphis,” he said.
“I have offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Louisville, Cincinnati and Ohio State have offered, but next weekend I have an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt and then a visit to Texas (April 4-5). And I will also be going to Missouri.”
“I decommitted early in February after Coach [Charlie] Strong and the staff left for Texas,” Trail said. "Texas is absolutely a big factor for me. I got really close with coach Strong and his staff at Louisville. I like Coach [Shawn] Watson the quarterback coach. Me and him got really close. They are just telling me to come down, get on campus, see everything and go from there.”
24/7 saying everyone scheduled to be in town, including TE Jordan Davis, have made it in.
CB Roney Elam is supposed to be there with Shorter.
24/7 also saying there are 20+ recruits there right now, so hopefully there are some other key names that haven't been made public yet.
24/7 reporting OL Trace Ellison of Frisco Centennial is one of the unreported guys in attendance.
Saw an article the other day about him being a possible late bloomer. Tech is after him.
Cool tidbit from Inside Texas...most of the recruits were in town around 8 a.m. so they could sit in on position meetings.
Inside Texas saying they spoke with CB Roney Elam of Newton before he left and he told them UT is sitting third behind LSU and A&M.
Weird turn on that one.
OL Toby Weathersby has committed to Texas.
EDIT: Here is the link

Awesome. There's your upgrade for the Lanfear loss.
Highlight of Gavin Graham of Anderson High School (I think it is this guy)

Free article by William Wilkerson of Scout on Toby Weathersby's commitment.

Key quotes.
“Oh yeah I’m going to work on everybody I can,” he said. “I’m really trying to go after Kyler Murray.”
"I think I can make that happen,” Weathersby said. “I’m talking to him right now. I’m just telling him all the good things about Texas and what we can get done to win a national championship here.”
(I still don't know how to post Instagram pictures)
I believe this picture comes from LB Cameron Townsend's fathers account.

As I watch Texas get blown out, I have to think of another kind of recruiting. What about going after Coach Marshall from Wichita State? He has an awesome resume and look what he's been able to do with WSU in the middle of nowhere. The Koch brothers are Wichita State supporters, but Marshall is still earning peanuts.
Thoughts?
No offer for CB PJ Mbanasor or CB Jaylon Lane today which surprises me.
Everyone reporting OT Kent Perkins had some sort of a knee injury at practice today and was carted off.
No word if he was carted off because it was a bad injury or just precautionary.
Hope he is okay, last place we can afford to have an injury is the oline.
Barnes was Big 12 COY. Go figure...
I love the idea of getting the recruits up early to sit in on position meetings.
We might actually develop kids who want to learn the game. Possible surprises from the unheralded 3 star and below who grows up. Getting kids to surpass expectations... It's been a while.
Yeah I know, COY for the conference is no small thing... but there just hasn't been much success at the dance, which is where it really counts.
We have been doing a lot of 1-and-done recruiting... maybe we should target those who will stick around for at least a couple to three years...
How do we get over the hump?
24/7 reporting RB Tristian Houston of Galena Park North Shore will be visiting the coaches' offices on Thursday while he's in town for the Texas Relays.
I'd expect several updates like these in the coming week.
