"First of all, the salary cap is exploding next season, probably by about $22 million. Making an $8 million annual commitment isn’t that big a deal. Second, Marjanovic showed a lot in his 9.4 minutes per game. He can become a full-time rotation member this fall."

Would we really want to pay him $8million? TBH I have no idea his worth or what we saw last year will really translate to for the Spurs.
Me neither. I thought the articles were interesting as they discuss a potential future role. I think he needs to be at least the 4th big. No way you pay him to leave him benched. One of the articles discussed how the bench could play a 4 out style centered around Boban, when you add in Bertans as a shooter. I am reminded of Boban's last game of the season against the Mavericks. The bench guys played really well off him. I think of Enes Kanter who's another scorer big man that gets exposed on PnR defense. Kanter got paid a lot. I think Boban will get paid, not as much as Kanter but it wouldn't surprise me if the amount he gets seems too much to us, look at Baynes last season.

Boban is getting paid. Maybe Milutinov and his SL stint with a probable addition to the roster is the Spurs foreseeing the possibility that Boban will be priced out of their range.

I'd be very very very hard pressed to give a guy who can't guard a pick and roll to save his life, that big a chunk of the salary cap.

Is there a track record that you can't use him in the playoffs? Splitter was underused in the Memphis series, look how that turned out.

    Poop just hates playing rookies

Probably had to tell him that a) The Spurs were never going to give him that money and b) He'd never play enough in SA to earn that contract again. That kind of stuff will encourage more players to sign with the Spurs in the future, and I have to think that Boban's international agent has the Spurs at the top of his priority list now that he's seen this.

From what I have seen here, arguments keep going and going and going.... lol
someone revived the game 6 thread "still hurts" not long ago.

I am sure whenever boban has a good game someone will bring up remember that time Manu cost us Boban? It's kind of the funny side of this site.

Boban has had little impact in pre-season.

Boban clearly has a lot of upside, however the durability of someone that big is questionable. You just don't know if the 3 years he signed with Detroit would be his last 3 years.

    Stan Van Grunty.
Don't use this as a measuring stick.
Wish Boban could have went to Miami where Pat Riley would have mentored him.
