Why do I get the feeling PJ Locke is loving this stuff way beyond the norm?

Did he just need structure or what?

I have said this before, but I think it bears repeating, Charlie Strong knew talent when he saw it, and he knew football, but he didn't know how to get the best out of this group of guys and it cost him his job.

I think Tom Herman is taking the right path to getting the best out of this team. This team needs a coach that is a details guy that will make them do it right at all times, eventually you are going to see their play improve because they are a talented group of players but mostly because Herman expects them to pay attention to every detail. These athletes will give you exactly what you expect of them, I really believe that.

Eh, I think Charlie was in over his head at UT. Where he's at now he'll probably get to actually do some coaching.

He will leave the sport without knees...
Proportionately he is no worse off then the plethora of 6'2" 350 lb linemen? Better in fact?

    Worse.

Now add the fact that he has much more leg to fall on as well.
Its why Andre The Giant got crushed in Redskins training camp.
Bones can only hold so much mass, it's not a proportional relationship as the article shows. It's why the very largest animals live in the water. Buoyancy helps counteract gravity.

Quote from QB Tanner McKee of Corona, CA (24/7).

The potential problem here is McKee being a Mormon, and he plans on taking his two-year mission trip after high school making him unavailable until 2020.

“I’m talking to Coach Herman a lot,” McKee said. “We’re messaging back and forth. It’s good to see how he sees things now that he’s at Texas. He’s just telling me what they can offer — what academics they have and what records they have. We’re just getting to know each other better.”

Polynesians are known for having the most dense bone mass of any race of people on the planet. They actually physically built to hold more weight than most other races.

My impression is he is a great athlete, but needs to learn the QB position still. His footwork is almost non-existent. His arm is strong in spite of the horrible footwork. His mission will do two things for him, it will mature him, and second it will give him time for his body to harden and heal any long term injuries he may have.

I think he is a take at QB, especially with the two guys we have on campus, he will come in as a true freshmen and be mature enough to step into a starting role.

The problem with these missions is that sometimes kids come back and their priorities have changed and they are no longer interested in football. I had a high school teammate that was a great WR, he went to BYU and instantly was one of their fastest guys on the roster, he went on a mission to Portugal and came back weighing about 230 lbs. He lost interest in playing football and just decided to finish his degree.

17 years old and closing in on 400 lbs... on 6 10 frame. I would not want that body. This seriously has knee injury written all over it. He grows 2 inches gains another 20 lbs. pro wrestling. His legs are targets.
