Winning the rebounding battle.
Playing good defense?
Damn, could the Spurs be back!?!?!
It honestly is a shame duncan wasn't there.
him down low against Diop or Dirk, and then being able to kick out would've been a true test.
Shucks.

That was a good game. Too bad Joey Crawford had to ruin it. If it weren't for that, the Spurs would have definitely won IMO. The Mavericks barely beat our team without Duncan. I think we will do fine against them if we play them in the playoffs. However, this game was just another exciting regular season game-nothing more or nothing less. It doesn't provide much insight to what will happen should we play them in the playoffs. If anything, this should give the Spurs confidence knowing that they barely lost to the Mavs w/o Duncan. This game, even though it had one of the most ING ridiculous calls I have ever seen, will not even matter to us in a couple of days, especially come Saturday. This game does give me more confidence when the Spurs face the Mavs- we ing outrebounded them with Duncan out for the entire fourth quarter! That's a good accomplishment. We also played excellent defense, as did they. We were playing excellent all the way until the fourth. We had more blocks then them. We held them to 3-11 3FG (they held us to 2-13, also good defense on their part). With that said, this game should only motivate the Spurs. They looked pissed as to me. Finley, Parker, Duncan, Ginobili-they all looked pissed, as they should have been. Duncan's going to be great if we have a rematch with the Mavs, I can tell you that. Oh, unless he breathes too loud and Crawford decides to T him up twice for it!
But seriously, good game. It reminded me of the playoffs from last year and only reassured me that a future matchup would be even better.
Oh, and Joey Crawford.
Think blue, T Park, think blue.
I don't understand why Bonner didn't play. He's been playing pretty good the last few games - he could've helped in the middle with Tim gone.
Whatever. The Mavs homer radio announcers at the half were in a panic over GS looking good and a probable eight seed today
Do you even understand why that happened? It's because Pop went away from small ball (you know, the we constantly criticize Pop about, and the you constantly defend him for).
Spurs win in Dallas in November, Elson played 26 minutes.
Spurs loss in SA, Elson played 6 minutes.
He was out injured for the 3rd game.
Tonight we almost pull this out with no Duncan but Elson playing 33 minutes.
There's a trend there for those with the mental capacity for it.
Spurs beat the Mavs? isnt that an oxymoron? just like in the playoffs last year, oh wait a second.....
beating the Spurs; so easy a caveman can do it
This game was bull . We hung on for as long as we could, but we can't beat these guys without the best player in the league (that's right, I said it) not playing the whole 4th quarter.
Manu, Barry and Tony all had rough moments there in the end, but the team hung on defensively as long as it could. Really's Dallas point total of 91 is pathetic considering how many transition and fast break baskets we gave them. In half court we were incredible defensively, I thought.
I was disappointed Pop went to smallball again for no reason in the second half. Horry played well in the first half and Bonner's been great the last few games. I don't know why he does these things. I think both Elson and Oberto played well overall.
Talent wise I'm very confident we can take these guys, but it's a very disturbing trend that the refs keep on ing us in this building. It's not "young guys getting intimidated by Cuban" like Sam Smith says. Bevetta isn't young. Salvatore isn't young.
Joey ing Crawford isn't young.
Are we going to get a fair whistle against these guys or not? I'm sick and tired of Pop and our FO never saying anything about the refs and getting no credit for it against Dallas.
I'm sorry, but now is probably the worst time you could talk after your team barely beat a Duncan-less Spurs.
Oh, and no it's not an oxymoron considering we've beaten the Mavs plenty over the last 10 years or so.
I'm actually proud of them for not opening their mouths. They'd be just as y off the court as every other team in the league. Plus, we had the lead with like 1:30 left- ty shot selection didn't help. We should have drove more. But you're right, that call was bull ; however, it had nothing to do with the refs "favoring" the Mavs. It had to do with Crawford being a little .
I disagree. A win is a win in the confidence book. You could tell both teams wanted the win bad and it doesn't matter how it got accomplished. If dirk would have not been in the game and the mavs lost your tune would be alot different. Maybe Tim Duncan will refrain from acting like a child when the playoffs come around. I wish he wouldn't have gotten thrown out but at the same time he shouldn't have been taunting the refs. Especially when he already had 1 tech. It was a good game, so stop the bull excuses. Weren't alot of you making a big deal out of that Phoenix game we lost in which we had 2 star players playing on sprained ankles and our starting center out? Fans can always come up with excuses... I'm just glad the players don't, and live up to the outcome of a game.
he only went for it the last minute and a half...I was disappointed Pop went to smallball again for no reason in the second half.
Oberto and Elson were in the whole time.....
I sure know that Mavs and choke isn't an oxymoron.
Think blue, T Park, think blue
Well, I figured you were joining on the bandwagon of Aggie and others with the Bull "Parker's 6 turnovers were a big reason"
Yeah he ed up 6 times, but how many times do the Manu homers say "Well he turns the ball over only cause hes agressive"
WTF, is this another instance of Parker gets but Manu gets the pass?
BTW,
if Avery is gonna play buckner that much in the playoffs, then yahoo for the spurs![]()
Answer the question Tpark: do you think that 8 second call was the pinnacle of aggression by Tony?
If you don't think that the Spurs gained some confidence by the events today in Dallas, I think you're pretty myopic. The Spurs were able to do a number of very positive things for themselves, given the historical matchup between these teams; things that will bode well for them if they are repeated in a playoff matchup. They didn't have enough offense without Duncan to finish the game out; but it took all that the Mavs had to come up with enough offense to overcome the Spurs as well. All of that, I think, is more positive for the Spurs than for the Mavericks.
As for Duncan, perhaps his behavior was questionable. But so, too, is the behavior of an official who chooses (affirmatively) to assess two technicals to a player in that cir stance. Tim wasn't taunting anyone -- he was reacting in the same way that many players react in similar cir stances. Somehow, Joey Crawford decided that today was his day to get pissy about a player being upset with the way he calls the game. It's too bad for the fans, because Crawford's personal proclivities deprived all of us of a great game.
You mean he shouldn't have been "taunting" Joey Crawford. News Flash: only you and Mr. Clean actually give a
Well according to Mr. Boxscore, we played it for nine minutes in the second half.
Elson 33 min + Duncan 27 + Oberto 17 + Horry 10 = 87.
That means 9 minutes of small ball. And I know we didn't play it at all in the first half.
Nope.Answer the question Tpark: do you think that 8 second call was the pinnacle of aggression by Tony?
Do you think manu taking jumpers all day was the pinnacle agression by your butt buddy Ginobili?
i can't believe duncan laughed and put that towel over his face. horry should have been ejected too, he was laughing just as hard as duncan.
all of Elson and Oberto's minutes were near the end of the third and all of the 4th.Well according to Mr. Boxscore, we played it for nine minutes in the second half.
Elson 33 min + Duncan 27 + Oberto 17 + Horry 10 = 87.
I watched the game live, and saw that Oberto and elson played the whole 4th.
But go back to your manu ginobili blow up doll.
Manu's one turnover was bad, because of the timing, but it's no bigger or worse than Tony's six. That's like saying a loss in April hurts in the standings more than a loss in December.
yeah i agree. these Spur fans are embarassing their team.
Bull you watched it live. You were constantly asking questions as to what was going on.
