Feel awful for KD. Really do. He’s a great player and going to the Warriors sucked, but he was no doubt important. GS was still great without him, but unbeatable with him.

Hope it’s not fully ruptured. If it is, KD has a big decision to make. If a team will give him the max, no reason to exercise his option. I think a team would probably do it to, but it’s a big risk.

He can obviously be safe, stay with GS one year while making 30M and rehab fully with no pressure and then hit FA the following year. But if he does not exercise that option, the watch is on for if someone max’s him out

Which is a "wear and tear" injury usually from a compounding injuries, fatigue or built up stress. He could have ruptured during the summer, while in training camp or the preseason (like DeJounte).

Instead, it helped while trying to be a leader (which has been his biggest issue) and win another le. Too bad Quitter didn't show the same heart or desire when he was "rehabbing" while his teammates fought to make the playoffs (and were swept).
That I give to Durant. But still, way to be on the other side. Spurs had franchise player injury which intentionally inflicted. Karma that injury happened against Kawhi’s team

Which team did you play for?

See any of those guys on the court and they would absolutely destroy you, but keep going with your "scrub" rhetoric as if you could ever compete at the pro level.

If people believe in Karma, then TOR will lose this series. Not only for what Kawhi did, but TOR fans celebrating KD’s injury on national tv in the finals.

Sure, again your opinion is invalid when you call pro's "scrubs" just to try to validate your (stupid) opinion.

I don’t think they realized it was an Achilles, at least in the moment. Remember, most of these fans are used to hockey injuries only.

What are you even arguing? The Spurs lost to a fat guy and a bunch of scrubs and Kawhi has his team in the Finals, is that not a fact? You're coming off as a salty ass .

The free agency market will be interesting with KD not in the picture. The Warriors are still a championship team with their original big 3. I wonder how its gonna impact their cap situation with re-signing Thompson if KD exercises his option?

It doesn’t. Whether KD stays or goes, GS really doesn’t have any means to improve their team all that much. If they lose Klay/KD? Then maybe they can get some flexibility soon. But barring that, even if they just re-sign Klay and KD is gone they are locked into that team (barring a trade) for another year.

2021 is different though. Without KD, they can have Curry/Klay under contract and virtually no one else (or of course they could re-sign Draymond again)

I don't think that is how ruptured Achilles work, homie.....
You don't know that it's ruptured...homie. Reed had a muscle tear in this thigh. That's not supposed to work either, but it did. Reed had balls, which is something Kawhi, for all his talent, doesn't have.

Uncertain whether Willis Reed would be able to play through the muscle tear in his right thigh, the New York Knicks get an emotional rush when their captain hobbles onto the floor against the Lakers, hits two jump shots and boosts his teammates' confidence and performance for their first NBA championship.Reed already had been named MVP of the 1970 All-Star Game and for the 1969-70 regular season. But his and the Knicks' shot at a le was seriously in doubt when he suffered a torn thigh muscle in Game 5 and sat out Game 6 (Wilt Chamberlain had 45 points and 27 rebounds for the Lakers to tie the series at 3-3). "I didn't want to have to look at myself in the mirror 20 years later and say I wished I had tried to play," Reed later recalled thinking, so he received painkiller injections in his thigh and limped to the court during warmups. The crowd already at Madison Square Garden erupted and the Lakers stopped warming up to stare at Reed. "When I saw that," Knicks guard Walt Frazier said, "something told me we might have these guys." Reed finished with only four points and three rebounds but gave New York a noble half. He pestered Chamberlain into multiple missed shots while he was in the game, then flipped the keys to Frazier, whose 36 points and 19 assists wound up as one of the greatest and most overshadowed Finals stat lines ever.

Guy ing just lost a franchise player. Looney was agonizing out there. Would Spurs organization force any player like that and jeopardize his career. I get it, it’s the championship game and all, but something says it’s greediness. He’s crying because their organization made the wrong call

Well we lost our star player and we let him rehab in New York. But I get what you are saying.

The ball dont lie...KD sold his soul joining a 73 win team. I dont wish that kinda injury on him i honestly dont. But its kinda karma-ish for ruining the league the last few years.
Interesting take. It very well could be Karma. This may have been the payback for doing what he did (joining an already pretty stacked 73 win team). The basketball gods may have had this is mind all along (if you believe in this kind of stuff). He got two Championships, won 2 x finals MVP, but this may have been what he owed them for that. I don't know, there's karma to go around for everyone. Kawhi would be next with the Warriors coming back to win the series without KD. Very interesting rest of this series. I'm glad to see it extended to game 6. Hopefully it goes to a game 7.
