from what I gather, it will make it more difficult, but not out of the realm of legit possibility we still get him. Would have been better though of course had Helton not remained (assuming, of course, that's correct on Helton, since we're hearing conflicting things still at this point per numerous Inside Texas posts)
They also mentioned Ohio State DL coach Larry Johnson as a guy Herman would aim for as a DL coach. ans DB coach (and former OSU DB guru) Kerry Coombs was also casually named as a potential DB coach, due to him not being "happy" in the NFL. I'm a ans fan (thank you Griffin and VY) and I've not heard or seem a thing about Coombs not being happy in Nashville. Everything I've seen with him, he looks excited. That does seem to be his persona though. In any case, I would be surprised if he left one year short of his NFL pension (IIRC coaches get them after three seasons in the NFL?).
24/7 had an update this morning saying a source close to Graham Harrell claims he's made at least one call to a coach he could possibly bring with him to Austin, and they think he could've already been offered the job by Herman.
Harrell was waiting to see if USC was moving on from Helton before making any decisions.
most likely a Wr coach right since it seems were retaining Hand and Drayton? Hope it gets done if he’s our top target. Harrell had Mason Fine of UNT putting up Heisman numbers a couple years ago and he would have likely been a candidate had he been somewhere other than UNT. North Texas was pretty darn good 2 years ago.
I've read that Hand's job isn't secured but Drayton's is. This really tells us that Herman really is going out of his way to secure Bijan's recruitment.
Considering that Hand is out recruiting, I'd give it about a 95% chance he is retained.
I think the only way Hand is not back is whether or not the new OC is adamant about having his own guy. Kind of like how Sterlin was tied to Matt Mattox (sorry for rehashing them days).

New offer DT Sawyer Goram-Welch of Longview told OrangeBloods he will most likely use an official visit to UT.
He has been committed to OK State since October.

OrangeBloods added that Herman, Coach Giles and Coach Warehime visited Longview yesterday and then did an in-home visit with Goram-Welch after school.
They like Texas' chances a lot.
Inside Texas reporting Herman and Graham Harrell will be meeting in Houston today.
24/7 was able to confirm Graham Harrell has interviewed for the head coaching vacancies at UNLV and UTSA.
Texas would still be able to pay him more as an OC, but it obviously depends on what he ultimately wants.
I honestly believe that if you mesh some of Herman's run concepts with Harrell's air raid, you're going to have something special that's maybe never been seen before. Call it the Power Raid offense. I know.... I should quit while I'm ahead.
It's Harrell that will have to do almost all the adjusting. Texas doesnt have a single raid/spread QB on the roster and Sam is not that type of QB. The QB they did have that is a classic spread QB transferred (Shane).

And Duvernay first team.
not a good look with an LSU account making the edit
The Football Brainiacs are saying Herman will be interviewing a DC candidate tomorrow, and it's not Chris Ash.
How did the meeting with Harrell gl today?
