Portland Batum and International Batum are two different beasts.
I'm so glad Spurs got neither. remember all the whining when the Rockets stole him in the draft. we get him, we don't get Hill and finally don't get Kawhi. he his a nice player when it doesn't count. would have drove us crazy every post season.

Pietrus was playing amazing D on Gasol. I really disliked Pietrus' play in previous games because he made some stupid mistakes, but today he was great defensively. Offensively a little less, but still he hit a big 3 for France when they were trying to catch Spain - he had the ball in his hands behind the arc and nobody was defending him; at first he didn't know what to do, then he shot the ball and made a 3.

Parker, Pietrus and Diot (2 consecutive 3's in 4th quarter, 4 clutch free throws) were players of the game for me today.

That was really a great game. I was ready to switch off my TV at half time. Parker is a beast, if he scores 21 points or more on Sunday he will become the greatest scorer in the history of the Eurobasket... but of course the gold medal is more important.

    Full OT

After seeing the whole OT France up to the 2:00 seemed pretty much lost on O, Ajinca had a lucky bouce to tie. Other than that seemed really amateur playing from France. After that Spain had pretty much the same type of offenses. Really surprised that pro teams end up playing like that.
Despite that really glad for Tony and and a relative young team france making it to the finals.

Great experience for the Spurs' French players, especially if they win the compe ion. Would be a great momentum for Parker, Diaw and even De Colo heading to training camp.

Damn, Parker really carried that team to victory. That was a damn good game. It was the first FIBA game I've ever watched in full, and now I might start getting into FIBA.

On another note - holy , there's a Basketball World Cup? Why did I not know about this? It has a really interesting seeding system: http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fe/14/...s_qualify.html

It is either the Pana or Aris .
I don't like Greek basketball, the stricted, system Serbian basketball is my favorite and Partizan is my favorite European team, but still.
NBA(and all the sports in the US) will never experience this and this sucks.

While Parker is the team's leader, he is not the only talented player - he's one of six NBA players on the French roster that includes Boris Diaw and Nicolas Batum.

Parker tops France with 19.7 points per game and is close to a tournament record - he needs 21 points in the final to become the tournament's all-time leading scorer. By taking his total to 984 points, he passed Dirk Nowitzki by one and is 20 behind Nikos Galis.

Man, I'm stoked that my country gets to play against great teams like the US, Spain, France, ARG, etc. at the FIBA worlds. unfortunately, they will most likely lose...
