Roger Stone: Congressmen Told Me Jeff Sessions is ‘Around the Bend,’ Might Be ‘Senile’

The “Nixon-era dirty trickster,” made some stunning claims about the attorney general’s mental health during an interview with Steve Malzberg on WMAL Radio Saturday night.

Malzberg first slammed Sessions — who as a senator was a darling of the hardline right, but has drawn the ire of Trump over his handling of the Russia investigation — asking if “someone has something on him.”

“I mean it might as well be Eric Holder as the attorney general,” Malzberg said.

Stone replied that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein is the “de facto attorney general,” before making a jaw-dropping allegation:

“I think Jeff Sessions is either neutered or non compos mentis.

He may in fact even be senile.”

Malzberg asked if those comments should be taken literally, and Stone responded in the affirmative.

“Members of congress who have met with me have told me that

he’s around the bend,

he makes little sense,

that he seems befuddled, confused, bewildered.

So yeah, something is not well, he needs to step down.”

Stone also said that

Sessions is obsessed with regulating marijuana.

“That’s all he cares about,” he said.

“He’s maniacal about it, he talks about it day and night.”

Who Are the People Still Marching for Trump in Texas?



At a march in Austin, an odd coalition of out-of-staters, white supremacists and the ordinary supporters who maintain his GOP approval ratings.

More than a year into Donald Trump’s scandal-plagued tenure,

what sort of person would show up to march in the streets in support of the president?

On a Saturday in early March in deep-blue Austin, the answer was a menagerie of

D-list conservative celebrities,

actual Nazis and

the sort of ordinary Trump supporters who bolster his persistently high approval ratings among Republicans.



But consider this:

Gallup polling in late February found Republican approval for Trump at 85 percent.

Fact is, the people in Austin that Saturday remain part of a solid political base. Counting on Republicans to abandon their man looks like a losing wager.

Trump supporters came that day decked out in

variously colored MAGA hats,

“Trump 2020” shirts and

American flag apparel of every conceivable sort.

They reveled in reciting both the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem before the march.

“Women, it’s time to get back in the kitchen!”

Some told the Observer they were genuinely proud of Trump’s first year in office.

Others argued that he’s been stymied by Democrats and moderate Republicans so far.

“We should have had several hundred miles of wall by now,” lamented Jim McCoy, of Katy.

The flyers read,

“Strong families make strong nations,” and

bore the old Nazi slogan “Blood and Soil” and the name of Patriot Front —

a small but attention-grabbing white supremacist group that’s littered college campuses around the state with its propaganda.
