It all depends on the ref and if he's gonna let some of the gots on the Barca team dive (Pedro, Alves & Mascherano come to mind) or if that was just them being made vs Madrid.

Yeah...who was their compe ion these past few weeks? Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho. Cristiano Ronaldo. Considering the rivalry, you'd really expect those gots to swallow the loads Barca have been feeding them?

I can't wait for this game. Should be awesome, and I expect ManU will put up for a much better match, they won't be playing defensive pussyball a la Mourinho.

Evra is a terrible defender and ManU's weakness. Alves will destroy him.

Jose Mourinho has been given a five-match European ban for his conduct after Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final first-leg against Barcelona.

Uefa said it was "inappropriate" for the Madrid coach to accuse them - and referees - of trying to help Barcelona win, following Real's 2-0 home defeat.

Mourinho served one match of the ban in the second leg, and another of the five games is suspended for three years...

serves him right for being a whining ing pussy

Actually it was for implying that there's some kind of conspiracy from UEFA to help Barca.

Yesterdy I saw a TV program that looked closely at each controversial play from this Barca-Madrid tie and had a lot of referees giving their proffesional opinion and the unanimous consent was that the one that benefited from the ref's mistakes was Madrid:

-All the refs agreed that Pepe was rightly sent off.
-They also all agreed that Higuain's goal was rightly disallowed.
-And finally they also all agreed that Madrid should have seen more red cards between the two games.

So Mourinho whinning is not only annoying, is also unjustified but I think he knows it, he's just trying to find an excuse.

Not to be contrary, but by any chance was the TV program from Argentina? because Argentine TV has been almost as much a homer as you've been in here when it comes to Barca. No offense obviously

Dude, it's not homerism. It's just the way it is. I think I have proven more than once that I don't let homerism affect me when it comes to analyze ref's decisions. Remember the game between Argentina and Mexico when you were calling Mexicans bad losers and I don't know what I else while I acknowledged that we got lucky because of the ref's mistake? I call it how I see it, and in this case it's pretty evident for anyone that knows the rules of this game that Madrid wasn't done wrong.

    This I can vouch for...

DAF86 has been the least Argentine homer on this board..

All hail DAF86 the oracle of truth. Give me a break

I remember that game, and I really don't really care what you acknowledged, Mexicans in here were still being sore losers. @ Sense chiming in, you were one of the sorest losers in here back then.

and if you are claiming you were somehow less of a homer than me last world cup, you're full of . I refer you to look at the world cup thread where I criticized Argentina up and down, left and right. (Ask ElNono)

The fact still remains though when it comes to Barca and Messi, you are quite possibly the biggest homer in here. , if I didn't know better I'd say you had Catalan in you.

I don't understand why even today I shouldn't at such a horrible call... the fact that you still don't acknowledge the huge mistake the refs made in that game shows how much of a homer you still are...

Argentina won that game, whatever.. I'm over that.. but the call certainly changed the game in many ways... and I'll never be over the fact that it wasn't completely a fair game.

Its just whining about the refs anyway you spin it. Can you imagine Pop being banned for 5 games for what he said about the Gasol trade? Its pretty damn harsh.

Sore losers? Like you wouldn't have ed about the ref if Mexico would have been the one that benefited from a call like that, I know I would have. Besides like if that wasn't enough, then they had to read your comments about it, I remember back then your comments even irritated me beign an Argie I don't even want to imagine if I was Mexican.

And about Argentina I liked how they played in the group stage, I don't think that's beign a homer. I'm sure most people here would agree that Argentina was one of the most exciting teams to watch during the first three games. I also said that I didn't feel confident going into the Mexico game and after it I ackowledged not only that we got a huge break with the offside goal but that we got outplayed by Mexico, how's that beign a homer?

About Barca and Messi I always say that they are the best team and the best player in the world respectively but I don't think that's beign a homer, that's just reality imho.

I agree, at this point it's pretty much undeniable that Barca and Messi are currently the best team and player respectively, but it's a pretty easy to accept. There's not much controversy, it's an easy call. That doesn't necessarily make you not a homer for claiming something most people would agree on.

The difference is that Pop didn't imply that the league was behind it to help the Lakers. I don't know if the suspension is fair and I don't care really 'cause it doesn't make much difference to have your coach on the side during matches, (you're still beign trained by him during the week and he's still the one that picks the line-up and makes the changes through a celphone call) but this wasn't just another case of a coach criticizing the refs imo.

Spare me, please! I never said I didn't acknowledge the mistake Sense. It was clear offsides. My beef is with every Mexican in here that was acting like if the offside didn't happen Mexico would have won. It was bull then, its bull now.

and give me a ing break with the "you're a homer" schtick. Do me a favor and look through this thread and tell me how much of a homer my comments make me. Go ahead.

    Argentina vs Mexico
