The Shining... 8.25/10
Knowing is very underrated.
7.5/10
I have begun my Nolanathon. Part 1.
Following 7/10
Insomnia 6.5/10
Memento 9/10
The Prestige 8/10
Act of Valor
3/5
The script was stereotypical and b rated, however the SEALs and the way they move, their tactics and precision, that alone is worth the price of admission. There are some really cool things going on in that movie that you have to pay attention to else you might miss it, because those boys aren't actors. They are portraying themselves.
Had this been done with all actors, it would have been the Rock, Vin Diesel kind of guys and a ton of pithy "we think they say this" lines. Instead what you see are what looks like normal every day people, quiet professionals who hang out with each other, value their family and do their jobs. They don't drop a lot of stupid lines, they just get in and get out. No Glimmerman here, just solid work. That's what you should expect from the "been there, done that" crowd though.
Oh man. The Last Samurai for me is a 9/10 at least.
Frickin love that movie. The acting, script, direction and score were all awesome.
I'm a huge fan of Ed Zwick though. Glory, Legends of The Fall, Last Samurai..quality flicks.

TLS would have been a 10/10 had it not been for Tom Cruise. Val Kilmer and it rings.
The slow mo shots of Tom Cruise's "acting" in various scenes prevent me from rating it higher. The direction, cinematography, and score were great. I didn't care much for the very end of the film. But I guess that's why its called The Last Samurai.
Yeah, replace Cruise with an actor and you have a really good film.
Back on topic:
This means War: 2/10.
1 point goes to the fact that Reese Witherspoon has really nice legs. The other because the film was mostly in focus.

The Experiment-- 7.25/10
I'd give it a 5/10, but all five of those points are for Tom Hardy being mostly in focus.
Much as I appreciate that he provided me a new opportunity to ogle for ninety minutes or so, McG really should have his directing privileges revoked.
I disagree, but I understand![]()
Ted
A must go see. I give it a 10/10.Not for kids that's for sure.
If not for that stupid name, alone
Saw it...I would say 7.5/10...and some head actually brought his kids and sat right behind me...pretty in awkward if you ask me...hearing a little 8 and 10 year old laugh their balls off at a swearing Teddy bear having sex with some chick...
Yea, 3 kids under the age of 10 in front of us, only saw the Mom when she was bringing thems snacks. WTF? They didn't even sit with their damn kids.
There's a Ted account on twitter, hilarious.at the bong hits.
ing ridiculous.
And you know who pays for this? Everyone else. These kids thaw it go to school and tell all their friends all the bad words and things they saw. It makes it tough for the parents who actually try to monitor and give a what their kids watch.
Oh I'm sure these kids were swearing way before watching this movie.
I hope there's a Ted 2.
LOL...no doubt. I haven't seen the movie so maybe it's not as bad as I'm thinking. Probably no worse than Bad News Bears was back in the day.
Depending on how graphic the sex scene is...
Over the Top 4/10
Inception 9/10
Just re-watched Kung Fu Hustle
Still a 10/10 for me
Not a huge fan of the Alamo Draft House, but the one good thing I like is they don't allow kids into rated r flicks.
Tombstone 8.5/10
Attack the Block 6/10
