Hornfans, any advisement on which message board is the strongest for UT online? It's been frustrating trying to get a read on the general fan base when the boards are heavily splintered on the net.
IE something like Texag - no trolls allowed.
Thanks
Thanks for this.
They're supposed to visit LSU this weekend. We'll see how that goes as they've emphasized wanting to remain close to home.

But Floss is the king of $0 online recruiting news.
Yeah...shaggy is the one. It's a special place, you won't get a lot of serious discussions, usually people are just bashing Mack, Dodds, Diaz, etc... Lot's of profanity and negativity. It is the most active Texas board though; Hornfans is dead, and of course Orangebloods and Hookem.com require money.
Once you get used to it, it's an entertaining board.
The Raiders...who were talking to Vince Young...have opted to go with Seneca Wallace as their third stringer.
Shameful, tbh.
A&M has offered 2015 ATH JW Ketchum. I'm assuming it's for WR but I'm not sure.
The guardian of DE/LB Sione Teuhema and 2015 OL Maea Teuhema speaks on their visit to Texas A&M (HornsNation):
“It was everything we expected and hoped for it to be,” said guardian Robert Taliaferro. “We knew it was probably going to come down to three schools, with A&M being one of them. Their facilities are in the top two that we’ve seen. Liked the coaches, liked everything."
“And then we meet with Coach [Kevin] Sumlin and he lays out a plan. The plan included Sione sitting out a year.”
“No other school has brought up the word 'redshirt,' " Taliaferro said. “Me and Sione had talked about the possibility of him redshirting, but what we don’t like is the grayshirt, which leaves him at home for nine months.”
“It would take an incredible amount of family discussion and praying for that kind of a decision to be made,” Taliaferro said. “I believe there is a different decision that would require a whole lot less discussion to be made. But it’s not my decision, all I can do is educate them.”
OrangeBloods saying Texas has made contact with the coach of TE Mavin Saunders from the Houston Kinkaid School. He will be a spring evaluation.

Brothers WR Armanti Foreman and RB D'Onta Foreman have been offered by Illinois.
OL Jovan Pruitt talks about where things stand with Texas since he's been unable to make it to Austin (24/7):
“I’ve been wanting to make it down to Texas for the past couple of months but it just hasn’t worked out,” Pruitt told Hookem.com. “I’ve wanted to get down there since February, I think, but I just haven’t been able to make it at all. It seems like every time I’m ready or have it planned to go, something always comes up or something doesn’t work out.”
“I’m actually trying to pick out a new date to go to Texas,” he added. “This time I’ll be going down there with my mom, so I think it will all work itself out. I don’t know when exactly it will happen, but I think I’ll be going down there very soon. My guess is before the summer, plus I’ll take another visit there over the summer for one of their camps.”
“Texas is a school I’m definitely still interested in,” Pruitt explained. “They’re one I’m taking a good look at. I like what I’ve seen and heard from them, plus I love the coaches there, especially Coach (Bruce) Chambers. I think they’re going to really turn it around this season, so I’m ready to watch them and see how they do. I think they’re going to surprise a lot of people.”
“The coaches tell me to make it down as soon as I possibly can,” Pruitt said of Texas. “I hear from them all the time actually. Mostly it’s Coach (Bruce) Chambers more than anyone, but he and I talk at least once a week, every week. We’ve built a great relationship and always stay in touch.”
“I have no plans at all to decide right now,” he said. “I’m just letting it all play out and looking at each school I’m the most interested in very closely. I want to take my time and have some fun."
“Everything has been going good for me,” he added. “I’m still hearing from plenty of schools out there. I have built up some pretty good offers so far, which has been great. Besides Texas, Baylor, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Alabama have been recruiting me the hardest. I’ve been hearing from them the most, right now anyway. I also visited Baylor recently and plan to take some more visits to other schools in the near future. I’ll be going to Arkansas this weekend, followed by Alabama on the 20th.”
maybe he can sign up with the talons. at this point, the NFL seems a pipe dream. even brady quinn is still in the league
I'm not sure this is true yet.
Also, I didn't know Kinkaid produced DI football prospects.
You are correct...they came out today and said that it's not a done deal yet.

Vince Young impresses in workout for Oakland Raiders
April 11, 2013 at 09:02 p.m.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the offseason that the Oakland Raiders had "preliminary" conversations about bringing in free-agent quarterback Vince Young for a workout.
On the heels of an impressive showing at the University Texas Pro Day late last month, the Raiders followed through on that workout Thursday. Young and former Baltimore Ravens backup Troy Smith both auditioned for the Raiders, Rapoport reported.
"Heard Vince looked good," Rapoport added.
Young will have to prove that he's made strides in accuracy and picking up NFL verbiage, but he does have the rise of the read-option offense in his favor as he attempts his comeback.
The Raiders opted to take a pass on signing Seneca Wallace as a backup quarterback, perhaps due to their interest in Young.
If Oakland does add Young to the quarterback stable, it would seem to confirm a Yahoo! Sports report that there is "much organizational skepticism" about Terrelle Pryor, a draft pick from the Al Davis regime.
QB Foster Sawyer of Fort Worth All Saints has committed to TCU.
So he may get the job after all...taking him a step up from "shameful" to "I suck just a little bit less than Seneca Wallace."
A few quotes from CB Jermaine Roberts before his unofficial visit to Texas this weekend (OrangeBloods):
"I would really have to like it and my family would have to like it too (in order to commit)."
"She (Roberts' mother) doesn't like Ole Miss. She likes Texas and Texas A&M," Roberts said.
"Really (the goal is) to impress my parents. I've already been there. The first impression is the best impression to me. They had the best facilities out of everywhere that I've been," Roberts said. "So just impress my parents, if my mom likes it, I might commit."
More from the guardian of DE Sione Teuhema and 2015 OL Maea Teuhema (OrangeBloods):
"We're going to wrap this thing up with the travelling. Hopefully Alabama offers to jump in the mix. So you never know. But the reality is, we've had our three or four teams in the mix," Taliaferro said. "We'll probably let the head coach of the school know as soon as we can but we're not going to announce anyone else until the spring game."
"A&M is A&M. They're dropping $700 million in facilities and they have great coaches," Taliaferro said. "But if you're throwing out pros and cons, that's a big con (offering Sione a grayshirt)."
"Texas, to be honest, doesn't need a lot of selling points. But at Sione's position, they've got two pro bowlers, one signed a $60 million contract or something," Taliaferro said. "Alex Okafor is about to get drafted, Jackson Jeffcoat is going to get drafted next year."
Update on WR Roderick Bernard (24/7):
“Overall I am working to improve every single thing I need to be successful and stay successful,” said Bernard. “I’ve been working on my footwork, hands, running better routes and improving my speed. I have also been watching more film and learning to read the defense even more than before so I can make smart decisions. I just want to improve my entire game.”
“My goal from here on out is to become the very best at what I do,” he said. “Every time I get the ball, I plan to score. I’m going to catch every ball I touch and score. If I make mistakes along the way, I’ll learn from them. I’m going to carry my team and we’re going to handle business.”
“Life has been great since committing,” Bernard told Hookem.com. “I am very happy about the decision I made. You know, I always hear a lot of great things about Texas. Everywhere I go I see Texas Longhorns stuff and it gets me excited about playing there at the next level. It’s crazy how realistic this is for me now. I’m ready to get out there.”
“There are some schools that continue to try and recruit me since I’ve committed,” explained Bernard. “Mainly it is Oklahoma and Houston. They’re the ones who are recruiting me the hardest.”
“I tell them that I’m not interested and that they know that I am committed to Texas,” said Bernard. “I am 100-percent solid for sure. I love the decision I made."
Oscar Giles
The lowest paid (I believe) and probably most underappreciated coach on the Texas staff.
CB Jermaine Roberts has arrived in Austin, according to 24/7. He'll be in town until tomorrow night.
More quotes from CB Jermaine Roberts on his visit to Texas (HornsNation):
“If it goes well,” he said. “They’re high on my board right now. With my parents, they’re No. 1 on their board and ahead of Texas A&M. If it goes really well, I might commit on Friday or Saturday.”
“My mom, I think she’s ready for me to commit,” Roberts said. “It’ll be about me and how I feel about the situation.”
“We talk about it every day,” Roberts said. “He (Courtney Garnett) actually is trying to get everybody to Texas. He’s trying to get Joseph Paul, even though he’s committed to Florida.”
“It’s in a great city in Austin and it’s a great school for academics,” he said. “And also there’s coach [Duane] Akina and how many guys he coached and put in the league and how he does a great job coaching. I talk to him and coach [Larry] Porter probably once a week.”
“I don’t know where he (Leonard Fournette) stands right now,” Roberts said. “I kind of think he’s going to the SEC. But he did visit Texas. He said he enjoyed the trip. That’s the only school he’s mentioned in his top schools that isn’t an SEC school.”
DE Derick Roberson gives the latest on his recruitment (HornsNation):
“Basically it’s just like, you don’t get a chance to travel much and this is my chance to travel,” he said. “I’m kind of solid with Texas. ... It’s good to keep your options open. But as of right now, I’m sticking with Texas.”
“My dad, he deals with all that stuff. We haven’t talked about it lately,” Roberson said. “There’s schools that have been talking to him, he just hasn’t let me know. He hasn’t given me any information yet. I told him, ‘Not right now.’ ”
“They (Texas) feel pretty good about where I’m at,” Roberson said. “Basically, they want me to start as soon as I get there and play a big role in their defense.”
“That’s pretty nice (that Trey Lealaimatafao committed),” he said. “They’re doing well. They’re trying to get that le next year.”
“Every time a school offers me, everybody starts hitting me up and telling me to stay committed to Texas,” he said. “Some schools are going to put pressure on me. I’ve just got to look past all that."
