That dodge, very early on, from defending McCain's health care plan from Biden's criticisms was really odd to me. Ifill gave Palin a chance to deal with some pretty heavy accusations about McCain's plan and Palin not only didn't answer that question but also acknowledged that she simply wasn't going to answer all of the questions. It was really odd, since Biden had really put the issue on the table and Ifill was, IIRC, simply giving Palin a chance to respond.
I've lived in both northern and southern MN, and I think the northerners sounds pretty close to Palin...just my personal observation.

She refused to answer questions. For example, the moderator directly asked her to answer about McCain's support of the de-regulation of Wall Street. She refused.
