Dont think for a second I was jumping on you, it was an exaggeration.

Youre right, RE4was exclusive to GameCube for quite some time. It was later (much later) added to the Wii collection using the unique controls of the Wii (which I hear was a marked improvement). Now its available on everything (i have it PS2).

RE4 absolutely rocks. From the very beginning to the bitter end, the game delivers in spades every step of the way. Its a completely new story and not so much about "zombies" as it were. More a sickness (the enemies still are completely lacking anything resembling an IQ).

You just have to buy it. Dont rent, buy it. Youll play it 3x in a row, set it down for 3 months, and play it another 3x thru.

Resident Evil 4 is totally worth the money. The game has monsters, zombies, and a cult! What more could you want in a game? There is still a bit of a puzzle solving element but not so much. You'll find yourself hooked on this game and getting pissed when you are in situations and you dont got enough ammo for the gun you really need. I've beaten this game 4 or 5 times and it just as good each time. It reinvented the franchise and perpahs the genre.

GTA IV has been delayed!! Until the 2nd Q of 2008.

This sucks. Halo 3 and GTA4 were the 2 games I was most looking forward to this year.

I have RE4 for gamecube, I got it off ebay for like 10 bucks but have yet to play it. I bought about 6 gamecube games off ebay at the same time to play on my Wii. It was last on my list to play because I heard it was so good.

Now I don't know if I just play the gamecube one or buy the Wii verson.

RE4 is really worth the price, and the best part is that it is cheap, even for the Wii ($35). It really redefined how they'll proceed with the series. Both the GCN and Wii version are great. PS2 version looks slightly worse, but it still has the solid gameplay. Wii version is really easy because of motion sensing (80%+ accuracy easy). If you plug in a gamecube controller you can use the old controller setup with the Wii.

I just searched the online stores of EB Games and Gamestop (both owned by same company now, same website too....which sucks).

Both show only PC and Wii versions. Check the resale games in your local store. Under $25, Im sure.

Uhm, why aren't you running Vista Ultimate 64bit on it? That's a complete waste of 2gb's of RAM since XP can't manage it properly, and neither can Vista 32bit.

I'd recommend an upgrade to premium or ultimate 64bit ASAP.

I want Halo3, but I haven't even reserved it yet ... Madden08 loooks great, but for that time I'll be playing Bioshock. I'll probably pick up Madden08 sometime between Bioshock and Halo3 release.

How so? I know most 32-bit UNIX/Linux can't work with more than 2GB (= 2^31 bytes) due to using signed (32-bit) integers for offsets. At least you can go in and recompile the OS with a larger off_t type and compile the kernel with high memory support to get around that. I thought Windows added high memory support with 2000.

XP can handle 4gb of ram. I'd avoid Vista like the plague unless you want a crapload of incompatibility issues with gaming.

Sorry, but you're wrong. It's widely known in most of the places I go (AnandTech, HardOCP) that XP and Vista (32bit) will only show between 3-3.2gb installed if you have 4gb's in.

Example can be found here on try to get around it:

Haven't read a post in this thread yet but I thought Vista could recognize 8gb or some ? I quit reading hardforum.com once I built my pc, about 6 months ago.

I will get Vista once DX10 drops but until then I'd rather continue to game than look at pretty desktop eye candy.

I'm looking forward to NBA live 08, madden 08, Assassins Creed, Gears of War PC version, Crysis, etc.

If you like FPS check out Call of Juarez, I haven't played it since the U.S. version dropped but the MP was loads of fun.

If anyone likes MMORPGS, check out Darkfall Online. I don't play them anymore but it will be a great mmorpg.

I'm getting ing tired of the PC getting skipped over for good games when it is the ing powerhouse of gaming and video cards cost more than any console out there atm. I'm almost fed up enough to get a 360 for MGS4.
