I wonder why people are still trying to trade Barry. Most likely if the FO trades a different player (like Beno and Barry gets time at point), he'll be fine. We've seen Barry with the capability to produce when he's given time.

As for Duncan, his subpar rebounding and aggression on defense are certainly raising flags. He had 4 blocked shots early on, but then he just watched dunk after dunk after dunk. He also missed critical free throws

    Bowen took some poor shots

Ginobili likes to shoot and handle in the fourth. Sometimes it's good, sometimes, not so much

Parker's 2 on 1 break was pretty bad

We can't trade Barry unless his salary is absolutely needed to get all-star caliber player in return.

His ability to knock down the occasional clutch 3 pointer is the reason we need to treat him more like Kerr than like some 'old white swingman'.
No, we don't need back an All-Star. Just someone that makes the team better (which wouldn't take much).

Calling Brent Barry clutch is about like calling Beno a solid backup point. Come on man...

The Warriors are jammed at the swingspots now after this trade. Ellis/JRich/Pietrus/SJax/Barnes. Maybe something can happen there.

Yeah, usually I don't start caring until the playoffs, but that was just a disgrace.

It was a slap in the face to the fans and the jerseys hanging in the rafters. If the Spurs don't feel like playing hard and the coaches don't feel like managing a game at least to the point where you have the right number of players on the court, just stop the game and go home.

How does something like that even happen? It's a pee-wee league type of blunder....

That's started the year as the #1 or #1A problem.

Now's it's probably been bumped down to #5 or #6.

Yep, we have. If the game doesn't matter, he's money. IF it's important (post season, regular season big games), he builds a house of bricks.

Damn, what is it with Spurs fans overvaluing scrub bench players?

    Barnes...

He can at least stroke the 3... and they probably wouldn't want to take another swingman like Barry.

Williams expiring contract straight up for (Barnes + Cash)...

Here is a little nugget to help Spurs fans rest easy:

The Mavs this year are 27-1 when they outrebound their opponents.

That Mavs have outrebounded the Spurs in 13 straight games.

    Add that up.

Barnes only makes like 0.7 million dollars.

How many times has Barry been given the responsibility of taking an important shot at the end? The bouncing 3 pointer against the scary Kings last year comes to mind. That shot changed the momentum of the series

Yeah but the Warriors won't just let a talent like Pietrus go... Barnes would seem like an easier target to obtain. One that could help just the same.

    Pietrus > Barnes.
    Stats
    Barnes -11.4p 5r 2a in 26mpg - 41% from 3
    Pietrus - 13.7 5r <1a in 31mpg - 38% from 3

Barnes = more bang for your buck

Plus the Spurs have always been high on him.

I'm not too dissapointed with the loss. We just got EXTREMELY careless with the ball, it seemed like we had a turnover every time down the court, and still managed to come back from a ten point deficit. If the same team that showed up in the fourth (minus the turnovers) shows up in the playoffs, we're set.

Can we still tank the season and have a shot at Oden?

    It's an interesting situation.

JRich is injured, doesn't play D, and makes too much, but I've heard rumors the Warriors want to move him. And he sucks at free throws.

Ellis is too small, and Nellie loves him.

Pietrus is probably the most likely of the bunch to be pried loose by the Spurs, although I think he's the most limited.

I suspect SJax is unlikely, although I think if he's willing to accept fewer minutes he'd do a good job on both ends of the court back under Pop's coaching.

An almost off topic question ..

Where's Zarko Cabarkapa? Why is he not on the Warriors roster, but they are still paying him?

I hate Jack's contract but if it's him or nothing, bring him back to San Antonio.

I called it the Worst Play of the Year when it happened.

Now that I think about it, it may be the Worst Play of the last 5 years.
ShoogarBear almost caught me saying a worty dird on Timmy's slipshod D allowing Cookie to score unabated.

He had back surgery. He'll probably be out the rest of the season.
