We can't point a finger to one player.

All players besides TD must play better against 500+ teams

The coaches need to do a better job and the Spurs as a team must improve their D

The last stretch when the Spurs were down, Parker played his best defense against Jason Kidd, why doesn't he bring that consistently?
Well it was at the end of the game, I don't believe he can harass JKidd full court during the whole game. It was also kind of gambling and I'm not sure Pop would like him to be so risky during the whole game.

But TP definitely needs to improve his D!

Besides boxing out and rebounding, I think that the Spurs gave a pretty good effort in defending. Mavs just got a momentum going in the 4th and scored tons of contested shots. A 42pt in the 4th qtr won't happen many times in the future..

Don't look at Rj he had 15 points on 50% shooting and was making plays at the start of the 4th, Big shot, the an 1 drive, the block And he was trying his hardest to guard a 7 foot shooting big man. But no one gave him the ball late so what could he do?

    the spurs forced 7 turnovers
where was great long arm hill steams and manus steal?
Hill's defense is overrated. I said it a week or two ago. I called him cement boots cause his feet are so slow and his long arms bail him out and that makes some people think he is a great defender. Hill has to move him feet because that first second his feet look like they are stuck to the ground and the other player has already taken two steps before Hill even moves.

So don't go trying to say I am propping up Hill over TP.

I meant that Tony and Manu's "individual" performance didn't hurt us as much as our poor 4th quarter D!!!

    It's not even close!
Tony and Manu's stat line are not that bad and could have been the same with a win!

    Am I clear enough?

It's quite fitting that Duncan will be our only all-star and All-NBA player this year. Everybody else has been disappointing.

Off-topic: Anybody have a gif of that fat whale at the Spurs game tonight(the disgusting Mav fan).

The Mavs also play better when the pressure is off. When they were down 13 that is when they played looser. That is when you have to play twice as hard against them because if they feel no pressure cause they're down they start hitting every shot they take.

They;re not good when they have the lead and the other team is putting the heat on them they tend to wilt, but when coming from behind it's like they got nothing to lose and play more relaxed and just keep draining shots or making plays.

Spurs had to put their foot down when we had a big lead, but as usual didn't.

Final Score: Dallas 112, San Antonio 103

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Dirk Nowitzki struggled for three quarters but spurred the Mavericks in the fourth, scoring 16 of his 26 points in the final frame to lift Dallas to a 112-103 comeback win over San Antonio.

Nowitzki connected on a mere 3-of-16 shots from the field heading to the fourth before making 7-of-12 to lead Dallas to a 42-23 advantage in the final 12 minutes.

Jason Terry added 21 points and eight assists, and Erick Dampier scored 14 points for the Mavs, who have won three of four.

Tim Duncan ended with 31 points and 12 rebounds, while Tony Parker and Richard Jefferson donated 21 and 15 points, respectively, for the Spurs, who have lost two of three and trail the Southwest Division-leading Mavericks by three games.

Dallas was down 80-70 heading to the fourth and scored the first six points of the stanza to inch closer.

With the game tied, 92-92, with under five minutes to play, Nowitzki followed Terry's three-pointer with one of his own, adding a mid-range jumper after a Spurs turnover for a sudden 100-92 advantage.

The hosts cut the deficit to four on a pair of occasions, the last on two Parker free throws with 1:13 to go.

Nowitzki again answered with a three-pointer and a block of a Parker jumper. Terry added two clinching free throws with 35.2 seconds left, and Dampier's three-pointer, the second of his career, in the waning seconds put the finishing touches on Dallas' dominant final frame.

It was 26-all going to the second, and a late Manu Ginobili three-pointer and Jefferson slam gave the hosts a 54-51 lead at intermission.

Dallas was on top 65-63 before the Spurs ripped off 15 straight points late in the third. George Hill started the spurt with a three-pointer and Roger Mason ended it with a jumper near the three-minute mark.

    Game Notes

Shawn Marion and Josh Howard each scored 12 points and Drew Gooden 10 with eight rebounds for the Mavs...Ginobili ended with 12 points for the Spurs.

They had a shot late in the third to do that, they didn't do it and let them back within TEN or so after three! When that happened I said oh no they had a shot when hot to go and end this and have a laugher of a 4th and sit some! That last minute or so in the 3rd did IT IMO! They fukked around and got comfortable with that lead and then it was all down from there. That tip in late in the 3rd to cut it to ten sucked, I knew then we were in trouble but others tried to deny it.
