that. Lamarcus, Pau and Danny showed up to play today. Kawhi did not....
They picked up David Lee and Pau Gasol, two of the worst defenders in the league. Then they have a bunch of scrubs and old ass Manu and Tony. Of course there's Kawhi but he can't do everything for them. Danny Green can't be everywhere either. There are too many defensive liabilities on the Spurs roster, but that's how Pop built it. Pop was mailing it in this year, just playing the "we made a run" card to get by. The "50 games" and "playoffs again" card will be repeated around the media circles and the Spurs will bow out in the 1st or 2nd.

Truth. But he is a perfect complement to the Dubs' big guns.
the mvp award is now bas ized and weill be from here on out. As I've said hundreds of times. The NFL sells a product of football, the NBA sells players. A superbowl of Chicago vs the NY Jets next year would still sell out and have the highest ratings on tv. An NBA finals of Washington vs San Antonio not so much. That's why calls are made to keep games close and extend series. It's about money with the NBA. The league shot themselves in the foot by making Jordan this so called invincible player. When he retired, they've been searching for the next one building up guys undeservingly every year since 98. They wanted Kobe, after the rape , they built up Lebron. the past 2 years they've been hyping Curry. During all of this time, from 99 until 2007, Shaq and Duncan played in every NBA finals. But the NBA never tried to go thru them. They wanted someone to replace the great michael jordan. So I don't give a about an mvp because it's all bullshti anyway
Pretty neat photo of the starting line up from this game tbh

You could put Dejuan Blair there and he would be as well. In fact, we could pick someone from this forum to play 5th position while KD, Curry and Klay are on the floor and that person would probably average 20 a game.
Any more Pop is a great RS coach. I fear you are right.
Spurs lost confidence last season after the Warriors beat them in their last meeting of the season to take the number 1 seed from them. The Warriors just did the exact same thing again, this time, without their best player while they were also on a back to back. Dismal loss by the Spurs.
Are you insinuating that Parker needs to be the focal point of the offense again? Did you see the game tonight? he couldn't even hit open layups.
Pop is a great coach regardless. You cannot create a younger Tim Duncan from an older Gasol and Lee combo. J Simmons and Dedmon don't equate to younger Manu Ginobili, and Patty Mills is no prime Tony.
Basically the Dubs curbstomped us for the last 3 quarters after the Spurs played the first quarter at an unsustainable level of intensity.
lol, how is it going to fuel them? This team is full of soft players that fold in these types of situations. There's no healthy Tim Duncan to drag them anywhere. There's no Tim Duncan with his supreme confidence to push them anywhere.
You're the one game fat boy, tbh.
ok that got me
SF is the only position Spurs have an advantage. They need to play great team ball to have any chance against GS.
If we would have kept Parker's usage higher, defenses would have to scramble and rotate, which is what led to the Beautiful Game. He can still do that pretty well, but we just want to go ISO with Kawhi and Lamarcus. They're good ISO players, but coaches won't have a hard time shutting them down in the playoffs. Teams really couldn't do that with Parker because he could score at will or distribute. Those guys can't really get the ball moving.
Even if they get to the WCF, this Spurs team needs more than "fuel".
he has 4 years left. Remember?
Exactly what does parker still do well in 2017?
That doesn't make any sense, pedro.
I admit you saw this coming way back then.
Yea...it's a good point. the conspiracy theory has some foothold lol
Thanks. But I am very sad that the Tony/Dijon narrative has come to this end - for the sake of the team.
