The Spurs have been better than the Mavs for years, especially in playoff style basketball. Only in '02-'03 did the Mavs come close and Dirk getting hurt took away any real chance they had to make it interesting...

Mavs lost game 3 because of Dan Crawford. Dallas is now 1-11 with him as the ref. Hopefully he doesn't ref another game this series.
Dan Crawford, yes. He's the one. Ever heard of Gaius Marius? He the one who ends up the roman republic. About 107 b.Chr. After him, we have to talk about the principat. It means something like Emperor, but this is not correct, is was something special. A lot of bull , isn't it? So please don't talk about Crawford.

Game 3 was officiated just fine IMO...Mavs CHOKED...

Pretty much. If you start another thread about them it'll probably be moved to the NBA forum or merged into this thread. There are always exceptions, but it is a Spurs forum.

Sorry dude, I just didn't see it...there was a few bad calls that helped each team at various points in the game...
The Mavs lost because:
1. They tried to run the clock instead of continuing to attack the rim
2. The let Wade get inside too much and get wide open shots
3. The only guy to score a field goal in the last 6+ minutes was Devin Harris
Refs didn't have anything to do with it...
and no, I'm not the "fan police"...whatever that means. Try to look at things without the Mavs colored glasses on...
How about the phantom foul on Howard guarding Wade, Haslem going over the back on rebounds, Dirk getting pushed in the back by Haslem on the steal, and etc. I haven't even watched that game a second time to look for all the bad calls but it seem like every play there was another one. Typical Dan Crawford type of game. Dirk getting called for an illegal screen that he barely moved on while Shaq pushes Howard away from Wade on a pick. Yeah that sounds fair.
Yep. Mavs didn't play to win at the end. They played to not lose.
I found this on a mavs site about a more specific screwups from the refs.

Wade is a crybaby and gets too many calls, but thats not why mavs lost. they didn't do what they're good at in the last half of the 4th. They played down the clock and were stagnant to make time run out.
agreed. we played not to lose instead of just simply winning. It came back to bite us. the officiating, I don't dwell on that. Mavsfan1000, look at what the Mavs did instead of the officiating. What did the Mavs do to put themselves in a position to have the so called refs whistle plays against them. It all comes back to the Mavs. We've got to play better than that. We missed too many free throws, turnover the ball too many times, stopped playing defense with 6 minutes to go, took Dampier out when he was ballin, did not run our offense, and slowed down the game to Miami's liking. None of this was caused by the referees.
It's up to the Mavs to respond in which I have faith that they will. Miami is the one, IMO, that has to withstand our energy for game 4 because we will have it for a long time in that game. Avery and the Mavs know they did many things wrong such as leaving Wade wideopen and not denying him the ball.
Focus on what the Mavs did for the outcome to go that way and not the refs. It's lame as to cry about it because it simply wont change. Besides, ITS THE IN NBA.
You sound EXACTLY like the whiny Spurs fans during the semi's...going thru each game and only picking out the calls that went against the Spurs or helped the Mavs...
I could go through ANY game from the perspective of EITHER team and create a list. In the end, the lists usually balance out...

Yeah the mavs should've won that game and it would've been easier if the mavs didn't let the officials decide the game which has proven that Shaq teams get more calls than other teams. Oh well I guess the mavs will have to blow out the Heat next time.

Dirk gets a lot of calls and so does Wade. Mavs had a 13 point lead with only 6 minutes to go. They gave away the game, the refs didn't make miami win.
