Kawhitter knows he'll never play a full season again. He's damaged goods with a limited shelf-life. that dude, I hope he does go to LA because they will have 0 dollars to fortify the rest of their roster. Good luck with that. Those 3 dudes will be battling to see who misses the most games. James dealt with his first injury-plagued season and now he'll get two teammates that can't stay healthy. Go on Kawhi - Do EXACTLY what you've been planning for years.
If the Lakers do in fact land Kawhi I hope the day comes where we see ADr, LeBron, and Kawhi in street clothes due to simultaneous injuries sitting behind the bench during the season and the Lakers playing with scrubs getting smoked by 20 + points on a regular basis.

What's the point of having 30 teams in the league now? Really.....teams that do the right things in drafting, scouting, developing players do not see the benefit of it in the long run. Any NBA team can provide multi generational wealth to the top players. That is not good enough for the current crop of NBA "stars" anymore. Is there any top 20 player in the league now that is a decent, likable person? There might be a few, but the bulk of the top tier guys a selfish Azzhats with zero self awareness.

These thin-skinned, lying, colluding players just set up their own personal safe spaces to try and guarantee success. At least the Spurs could overcome the obstacles placed in front of them as a small market team for a long long time. Now that's over - there's hardly any time to build something up before a completely incompetent train wreck franchise - such as the Clippers for most of its history or the Lakers (of the last eight or nine years) poaches your players. The entire Lakers front office and coaching staff has done a horrible job most of the last ten years - recent events don't change that fact.

If players don't really have any loyalty to a franchise that provides a successful environment, why should fans? Frankly, I don't see much difference between nephew/uncle fester group and the guy that steals money from his employer by setting up a fraudulent/fake vendor banking account and then cutting company checks to the fake vendor. I really don't - what they did was straight up theft. Today's NBA is as legit as the WWE or whatever the Vince McMahon controlled organization is currently. In my view, dirt bag stole his 2017-18 salary. There is no other way to describe the situation realistically.

This. Its just my opinion, but I blame LeBron after he teamed up with Wade and Bosh. Since then it seems to me like all these guys wanna do is team up with other superstars. The NBA is starting to look like a grown-up AAU league. This is why to me MJ is the greatest. He wanted to destroy his compe ors, not join them.
Spot on.......I was thinking the same thing. Todays NBA is not a legitimate league anymore. The NFL has its issues, but well run organizations can still succeed and be the best. Too many good players are needed to be a Super Bowl winner. You can't steal one or two players and win it all for the most part.

I agree with the first part but MJ had the best sidekick in the history of the game imo, take him out and he goes nowhere fast.

I dont agree that it makes the Spurs look bad if the Lakers get Kawhi. I think its the opposite. They caught wind of what was happening early and were not going to support the colluding assholes. Also it wasnt that Kawhi wanted to leave because the Spurs treated him badly, it would be that he just wanted to badly go to the Lakers and form a super team and get massive endorsements. Worst case is that he really isnt injured and has been playing a 2 year game with everyone on his injury and goes to the Lakers to form a 10 year dynasty with them. But hopefully it is real and see a short le run for the Lakers because their big 3 is a bunch of crippled superstars.

This. Scottie was drafted by Seattle and traded to Chicago. Jordan didn't recruit or team up with him during free agency.

Jordan was still on a team that was good enough without him to make it to the Eastern Conf. Semis and both times the Bulls lost to the eventual Eastern Conference Finals representative (Magic and Knicks). The 3 years before the Bulls drafted Pippen they were a below .500 team and lost in the 1st round in the playoffs. Lebron at 2 years younger than Jordan only had 1 losing season and carried a Cavs team surrounded by a bunch of scrubs to the Finals by his 4 year, something Jordan couldn't do. Is that to say that Lebron is better than MJ? No, but Lebron certainly did more without help than Jordan ever did.

Just go to the Clipps, Kawhi (my original prediction) if all you ever wanted was to go back home.

I agree with you 100 percent. For me the last week or so I have thought about how the NBA has become a lot like WWE that if #2 signs with the Lakers that I can't even get angry because it's just par for the course. Granted I will still watch the NBA because I like basketball but at the same time I'm no longer going to take whoever wins the le seriously.

Anyways #2 going to the Lakers makes me think of this WWE clip of the Rock selling out and teaming up with Vince McMahon.

He should just go back to Toronto where they kiss his ass, won a le and would be on the 2nd year with the same team for a possible repeat. He'd rather choose joining a mentally fragile player that basically called him a role player? Not to mention Durant is out a year? I don't buy it. I think these people just throw at the wall to see what sticks.

If #2 stays with the Raptors I hope he signs a 5 year deal and not do a 1+1 because then we will be subjugated to this bs again next year.

y'all remember when the players hired that union rep that was going to get them a better deal? How is this free agency/superteam mania good for that? I feel like Lebron is selfish so i don't really expect him to champion this. Durant and Kawhi are insecure. Gonna be dire when the small markets come for blood about stars being es.

Is it still allowed for a player to sign a 5 year contract, with a 2 year player option? If so, Kawhi should do that with Toronto. Return to a stable situation and perhaps ring again, let the other teams (Lakers, Celtics, 76ers, Bucks, and Clips) settled down, then decide the best course in two years.

Kids today. The whole world is new to them. Not that I'm that old, yet, but I do know a little history.

OMG, players are going to different teams! It'll destroy the whole league! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Look up how the Spurs got George Gervin. (Which really did play a role in the end of the Squires, and the ABA.) Then look up how Babe Ruth went to the Yankees. In 1919. Then that Yankees superteam dominated baseball so overwhelmingly that it totally destroyed the sport and baseball doesn't even exist today!

Har har har. But yeah, I know, the sky is falling.
