What's the point of having 30 teams in the league now? Really.....teams that do the right things in drafting, scouting, developing players do not see the benefit of it in the long run. Any NBA team can provide multi generational wealth to the top players. That is not good enough for the current crop of NBA "stars" anymore. Is there any top 20 player in the league now that is a decent, likable person? There might be a few, but the bulk of the top tier guys a selfish Azzhats with zero self awareness.
These thin-skinned, lying, colluding players just set up their own personal safe spaces to try and guarantee success. At least the Spurs could overcome the obstacles placed in front of them as a small market team for a long long time. Now that's over - there's hardly any time to build something up before a completely incompetent train wreck franchise - such as the Clippers for most of its history or the Lakers (of the last eight or nine years) poaches your players. The entire Lakers front office and coaching staff has done a horrible job most of the last ten years - recent events don't change that fact.
If players don't really have any loyalty to a franchise that provides a successful environment, why should fans? Frankly, I don't see much difference between nephew/uncle fester group and the guy that steals money from his employer by setting up a fraudulent/fake vendor banking account and then cutting company checks to the fake vendor. I really don't - what they did was straight up theft. Today's NBA is as legit as the WWE or whatever the Vince McMahon controlled organization is currently. In my view, dirt bag stole his 2017-18 salary. There is no other way to describe the situation realistically.
