Of course the winner is always right!
You realy need to lay of on thinking you are the king of smack or whatever.
You ain't getting the best of me. I am a man of facts and I will smash you around the head with them. Your strategy failed you, I beat you.

We are talking baseball here! You bring up DYNASTY Fantasy League Basketball?

    .............................
Well if you are so ing great now...you must reeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllllllllllllly suck in fantasy basketball. You been in that league 4 or 5 years and you still were tanking to get the #1 pick this year.

    You realy don't get it.
    You screwed up!
Those 2 I mentioned had 20+ stolen bases on the season
No really? I had no ing clue how many stolen based they had...I picked up Cabrera for his defense.

Damn, and to think, I could have started a guy who got not stolen bases on Sunday to get those two stolen bases....stupid, silly me.

and you played with 2 empty roster spots!!!
Read it and resist the temptation of being an asshole in writing again!
Did they get the two stolen based of which you speak?

    Yes or no?

It's incomarably stupid what you are doing...this is like failing to win the lottery because someone didn't pick numbers 47 and 26 and you coming back and saying, boy are you stupid, you could have picked 35 and 14 instead.

    Idiot.

You didn't give me anything, during the entire season I was in the upper rankings. I started on top and I finsih on top. It ain't a crime to give me the deserved respect. I DO NOT ASK FOR RESPECT, but I certainly didn't ask for your ing.
Go yourself and your respect it's a ing game...

No wonder you went schizo in fantasy basketball last year.

    I deserved to gloat.
I beat 9 US MLB followers, so damn right I am beaming like Kobe Bryant's chick's ring. If you think that is acting like an ass, you're just a bad loser...hey, that ain't a question, you most defenitely are a very bad loser. Even Dan ain't as ed up as you are acting recently.....he didn't congratulate me yet, but he doesn't have to.

You admitted in the matchup comments that you ed up by dropping both Beckett and Buchholz because you failed to see that the last matchup week concisted of 2 weeks. So don't come in here acting like you knew what you are doing. You have no ing clue.

I made that move less than 2 weeks into the season. Did you see in your mama's crystal ball that Reynomds would have a career year? I never even heard of the guy, when I saw him on my roster after the draft. I did research and found out that Scutaro had a great start and picked him up. Turns out he weas the surprise of the year. GM move gone bad? Nah, not in my book.
    [/QUOTE]

I will tell you how much respect I have for you, you incomparably ignorant smug ass...

I want no part of any league, your whining, gloating, paranoid ing ass is a part off. I don't care if you suck in it or not.

I do this for fun, not because I base my self esteem upon it, and playing in a league with people like you, is not fun.

    So go yourself.

There's your respect you giant bag horses ass.

And I'll make this prediction too...any league you are part of is going to be short lived one if you keep accusing people of tanking and accusing commisioners of deceptive practice, your bull nearly destroyed that dynasty league last year.

Good luck, I suggest you adjust your stupid ing at ude.

People don't like being accused of tanking and corruption, idiot. Just a word of warning. And gloating, LUCKY, winners are the most insufferable of them all.

I know, I know...it's just because I can't handle you winning, I mean it's not like FWDT has ever won a fantasy basketball league, or Melmart won this league last year or anything.

    Oh great winner...

    What a ing .

Let me know when you find those two stolen bases...

    It's personal now.
I just keep explaining myself so that others won't drown in your bull so here we go:

I am the one falsely accused of tanking, because I picked high school stars instead of NBA players. I focus on the future and not on the present. Dynasty League remember? I follow the rules, so if I play in a league I want others to follow the rules too. If I have a su ion that somebody else is not playing fair, I report it. Simple as that. I was even asked to be a Dynasty League "cop" to be sure everybody was playing according to the rules, but I declined to do so for Dynasty League 2, too.

On the roster limits during the regular season, I don't care if we do it or not but anything under 5 moves per week is pretty draconian, and Dan was the only one to average over 5 moves per week this season during the regular season and that's including the playoff totals in the regular season totals for everyone else. I hate that streaming pitchers strategy....I did it twice this season once against Bashers and once against Dan...neither time did it work(and it seldom does but always has a chance to do so). I don't know that I've ever seen it work....but it sucks during the playoffs because if someone is doing it and you are counting on winning wins and k's you pretty much have to do it.
I personally believe that U.S. American leagues are better when you limit the number of pitchers you can play a week (weekly lineups). I was in a ESPN league that let you do it and by doing it such as it places greater emphasis on drafting solid pitchers and a more complete team.

To be honest, this was the first year I played in a league with no transaction limits and daily roster movements which is why I had so many transactions. Think of it like a guy who just got out of jail, he is probably going to eat junk food every night and party.

Now, having done both leagues, I like weekly lineups better for these reasons:

    1. You have to actually draft well. I drafted a ton of Outfielders knowing that most of them would be dropped for whoever the flavor or the week was. If I needed Steals, I just picked up a bunch of fast guys and put them in my lineup, same thing with runs. Weekly lineups prevent that and make you have to draft a better all around team. This is the same with pitchers, you only get a max of 6 starters for the week, so you have to make sure you drafted soild pitchers. And you can't just give up on ERA and/or WHIP for wins and K's like I did many times. There is strategy that plays into this method. Say for example your opponent has Lince that week and he is pitching twice that week, you also have a 2 start starter who isn't that great. Do you risk his 2 starts to keep yourself in Wins and Strikeouts? or say you have Grady Sizemore and he is a career .187 hitter in Seattle, and the Indians have a weekend series in Seattle....do you start him?

    2. It allows you to dedicate 1 day to fantasy baseball rather than taking up your whole summer. If you just do your work on Monday setting your lineup, you are set for the week. You don't have to worry about anything unless you have to make a move because of a guy getting put on the DL

    3. You can still make moves, but you will have to think them through more. I picked up so many guys this year just because I needed whatever they offered. For example, Nyjer Morgan was good for a weekend when I was down SBs, and Matsui was good when I needed a HR or something. With weekly lineups you have to do all the planning on Monday which means there is more strategy rather than just dumpster diving for stats.

I need some clarification regarding weekly lineups-- What happens if one of your players gets injured? Are you just screwed the whole damn week? Seems unfair to be penalized for injuries when there are healthy people on your bench you could have rotated out. What about injured players with minor scrapes who don't get put on the DL and just sit out a few games ... are you screwed there?

The outcome would not have changed no matter who I started you gloating, stupid, horses ass.

Do you realize that people you called out, are in this league?

You want the link where you accuse Melmart of tanking?

    http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118545

Or the one where you sugggest timvp should be removed as commissioner and replaced by yourself?

Or do you just want to look in this thread where you accuse Truth of tanking?

You really are ing stupid...I say it with ease, any league which you are a major part of, counted on to be the glue so to speak, will not last long.

Because you are a ing .

I hope you do get to become commish of d-league 1...you watch how fast people completely bail on that league with your NAZI, paranoid, unaccountable sore losing ing ass in charge of it.

I need no good luck from you, you misserable dumb .
    Oh yes you do.

So we got one free spot in SpursTalk Basketball Dynasty League 1!
Anybody feels challenged to make something out of the mess whottt leaves behind?

The only mess is your team...I don't think anyone in that league has sucked as badly as you for near as long. IT's all about the wins and losses...

Your philosophy, not mine...if you win you are god, and if you don't you should shut up and listen, and since you most certainly do not win in that league and live at the bottom of it and have for half a decade....you should just shut the up and listen to your betters.

And you completely miss the point on me wanting no part of any league you are in...I'm not going to leave them, it is my intent to force you out of them...and every time you whine, , accuse, I am going to be there calling you out for it.

You see, you are not needed...I actually groaned when I found out you were going to join this baseball league, because I knew you were going to accuse people of tanking, which you did, and take it too seriously, which you do...

What I did not know, because I had never seen you have any sort of success...is what a truly classless detestable winner you would be...it's like the worst of both worlds.

I am not leaving this league because of you face...I've been in it for 3 years now, and enjoyed it more when you weren't a part of it...it is my intent to force you out of it, and it's going to be easier and easier every time you accuse someone of tanking or prove what a classless winner you can be...the most classless, I have ever seen.

It's simple really, because you are so ing stupid....when you lose you cry conspiracy, which means you will no doubt accuse FWDT of being corrupt as you did timvp...or you get mad at the people getting in the way of your tanking.

If you win, you will be so smug that people simply will not be able to stand being around you.

The only way for you to win, is for you to shut the up, and be seen not heard...

Know your place to so speak.

I am not going to leave...I just have to wait until people get as sick of your bull as I am...that's not going to take long.

Unless you siimply admit you are indeed a true head, apologize for it, and stop being one. The sooner you start shutting up, the better.

if they put a guy on the DL you can make a change. I think you can personalize the weekly lineup leagues to allow so many wildcard transactions, but I'm not sure. The league I played in only allowed DL players to be replaced during a week. But a week is nothing in baseball. It's not like you can't make 100 transactions, you just can't use the guys in your lineup until you set it on Monday. So you have be solid and you can't have a bunch of nitch guys like daily leagues. Like Michael Bourn for me was good at stealing bases, and that is about it. If I was up in SB's and needed Home Runs in a Daily League you would bench him and put in a power guy, but in a weekly league you can't do it.

Well, that certainly makes you need to pay attention to your draft more. However, it also seems to take a lot of strategy out of the weekly matchups. Not sure I really like giving up the roster management/chess match aspect. I would be interested to see what the rest of the league says.

For those of you awaiting payment -- and, yes, alamo, I have gotten each of your PM's on that issue -- here's the deal.

I hadn't looked at my paypal account since payments were initially made. As it turns out, there was 1 payment that was never made to the league. I could take some time to try to figure out who the delinquent is, but I don't have any real means (other than trying to guilt the non-payor into making a payment) to enforce that obligation. In addition, whether you know it or not, paypal extracts a certain percentage of the funds that each owner provided to cover its costs. Thus, while each of you paid in $25, what I got $23.97 into that account. This was true last year, too, and I just took the difference out of my 2nd place prize; this year, since I didn't finish in the money, I don't have that option.

Since I believe that each of the prize-winners should receive the full prize to which he is en led, I am depositing my own funds into the paypal account to make up the difference. Unfortunately, the transfer from my bank account into the paypal account is taking a couple of days to process. I don't know why that's true, I just know that it is true.

Since I didn't discover this discrepancy until Tuesday evening, the transfer hasn't happened yet. As soon as it does, I'll remit the prize-winners payments. Until that happens, please bear with me.

Always nice to know if a PM has been received.....thanks!

You are the commish this year, so if this is your solution to this unbelievable problem than that's that. No need to transfer more than $100 to make sure I actualy get $100.

Although you don't care to find out who is the one who didn't pay (I got a strong su ion, but it's not for me to say), I care to say that my PayPal payment was done April 6th too.

Is there a chance for a complete shiny trophy though?

Yeah, and I never suggested that you were the delinquent, Alamo. What is true is that my solutions (I think) are to either cut the prizes, which I suspect would piss off the winners, or to put in my own money to make up the difference, which strikes me as the better solution. I could out the culprit, but I doubt that I could make the culprit pay up, so an outing wouldn't really get anything done.

I don't know if the disbursements I make via Paypal would come with a fee extracted or not, but I was never going to add additional money to anticipate that difference.

I think this is a fun and viable league and I'll be happy to serve as the commissioner again next season if the group wants that. I'll apologize for my relatively absentee efforts this season; I lost my Internet access during the workday for a period of time that coincided almost exactly with my wedding this summer, and spent very little time online for about 2 months. That will not happen again.

I'd suggest that those who intend to play next season - and I'll officially state my hope that whottt will be among them, recent frustrations aside - keep up the discussion of rules tweaks and such for next season. The discussion that followed last season was actually very useful to setting up this year's league.

It never crossed my mind that you would think of me beng the delinquent.
Why wouldn't you start the small investigation and confront the one who's payment hasn't been received? There could be a perfectly explainable reason that the effort was made, but the money just never arrived (wrong PayPal address?).
But once again, it's completely up to you as long as the price winners get their correct total price money.

Congratulations on getting married over the summer and looking forward to a more active involvement from everybody who will be in the league next year.

I don't use paypal much but here is what I found regarding their fees.

"Free when the money comes from PayPal balance or bank account.

    2.9% + $0.30 USD
when the money comes from a debit or credit card or PayPal Credit
(the sender decides who pays this fee)."

Did my payment charge you a fee? Maybe someone who knows more about paypal can enlighten us about how their fees work.

Hmmm....I'm not really sure what to do about the no-pay...whatever you guys decide on that is ok by me.

On the paypal fees, I've got no problem with you deducting those fees from the winnings or getting us to pay them upfront when we send them in.

On the weekly roster....I'm not in favor of those. I don't even like doing it that way in fantasy hoops. If anyone wants to adjust their roster weekly they can certainly do that. You have the possibility to set your lineup for every day of the week in one day, it's not that complicated.

Baseball is a nightly game, not a weekly game so I will cast a strong nay vote for going to weekly. And I again point out you really can do it weekly under the current system with little or no penalty should you want to do so...you just fill out your lineup for the week in one day, will take you about 5-10 minutes to do it.

On roster limits during the regular season, I will go with the will of the league on that one. I was mainly concerned with the post season.

And thanks FWDT, I will be back

And congrats on getting married as well

Also FWDT, let me know if you need my paypal info. You might have it from previous years but since I didn't send you any money this year(timvp sent it with his payment from some of my d-league winnings) you might not have it and that account activity thing on paypal is flakey.

I also will bring up this solution in the event you can't get the final payment, we just split it 4 ways between you and the three prize winners...comes out to 6.25 apiece that way and it seems fair to me. Everyone else would have to agree with that though.

I don't know who didn't send their money I just know we almost didn't have a league this year due to not being able to get enough gm's so I'm not that worried about it.

Did my payment charge you a fee? Maybe someone who knows more about paypal can enlighten us about how their fees work.
This is true unless FWD has a business account and then he will get deducted a percentage all the time. FWD you might want to look into that. It has been my experience for those who send you money via credit card, they deduct a percentage but if its from a bank account no money is deducted (unless the receiver has a business account.)

That sucks that someone didnt pay, I say just deduct the winnings from Alamo hehehe, j/k. I dont need to be paid out and you can just keep my winnings for next years entry fee .

Looking at the roster of owners...assuming it wasn't a prize winner, whoever didn't pay is either Dan or someone who has been in the league in other years and if Dan says he paid then whoever it is, they must have paid in the other years. They probably just forgot. If they do refuse to pay I'm not into haggling over it....just whatever everyone decides that it is fair.

I paid. See FWD's post #192 in this thread where it states:

So far, I have payments from:

    tim"The Hammer"vp
    whot"the hammer"tt
    Mel"the Hammer"mart1
    and FW "The Hammer" D
    Thunder "The Hammer" Dan
    "The Hammer" alamo50
I'm saying it's The Truth seeing as he didn't pay early, and quit the league halfway through the year

    Noted Payers:
    Me
    Whott
    Mel
    FWD
    Alamo

    Noted Non Payers:
    EricB
    Slayer
    The Truth
    Timvp
    ATrain

    Now let's narrow it down:
Atrain either paid or is extremely stupid because he is expecting payment for the computer's 3rd place finish. I say he paid

Slayer was active in the league all year, so there is little chance it's him

EricB was active so probably not him

TimVp was active, probably not him. Although maybe he is using his status around these parts as a strong arm to not pay...still probably not him

The Truth quit sometime around May and hasn't shown his face in this thread since. He hasn't even adjusted his lineup in 4 months as he started guys on the DL

how is there any question as to who it is?
