How does it not improve their chances against us? Sure, he's not a good three point shooter, but his athleticism has given us fits in the past. He scored 20 on us earlier this season.
I love what Philly is doing, tbh, great tank so far..

Still shocking at how little value Philly has gotten. To their credit, they have a great pick coming their way and a ton of cap space. Sucks for Thad Young and I'm shocked they wouldn't take any first rounder for Thad as long as it meant not taking salary.
Spurs screwed the pooch here. With rock bottom prices, despite fit, they could have easily obtained a guy like Hawes/Evan for just expiring deals or 2nd round pick(s).
i know, but a sizable expiring can net you some assets, but its not always the case like the Lakers w/ Pau. at least the pacers got something out of granger, which is what i was referencing
You do realize turner took 21 shots to score 20 pts right?
Turner gives the Pacers a creator off the bench, they need that, on paper it's a good trade.
BTW where is this athleticism of Evan Turner that everyone is speaking about? He's an average athlete at best, tho given the Spur's crap athletes I can understand how one player's athleticism is thought to be more than it really is.
As the first option.
Granger is/was just as athletic at a position the Spurs are weak against, and he's not that great of a defender. Indy's bench scoring is so pourus the Spurs would be able to focus more on him.
You do realize he wouldn't be required to shoulder such a load now that he's on a loaded team that will give him better looks, right?
Doesn't matter. He can't shoot.
Yes, and now he'll get better looks on a loaded team.
Would be funny if Granger was bought out and went to the Heat tbh.
If anything he'll get worse looks. He just won't be a liability on D as much as he was in Philly.
he's a good rebounder and he can playmake. he'll be fine in a reserve role on a team with the amount of talent like indiana
I said in another thread I doubt he gets bought out, but holy if that happens...
It doesn't work that way for ballhogs like Turner. He sucked when Philly actually did have talent. He only became relevant when he was able to chuck with impunity.
But he can take it to the rack and again, we struggle against athleticism.
I truly believe Granger will be bought out.

In transition and rebounding. Not on penetration.
I think it does, Indiana basically had to play their starters 48 min last year, their awesome starting 5 had to always make up for their sucky bench, it's a bit like Portland this year (they already had great starters last year), a bit of boost off their bench could make a big impact...
I agree. It's a good move that makes a scary team a little scarier. I have them topping the Heat now.
lol, your all over the place with your stmts. So in one stmt you like to point out how he scored 20 against the spurs (which i point out how ty a shooting perfermance it was) and now he will be a bother to the spurs cause he will not be the #1 option. right, keep reaching..It is a good pick up without a doubt for the pacers, do not think it will make or break a series if the pacers match up against the spurs.
Spurs actually have a few players that can defend him unlike Granger where they'd only have Kawhi (thanks to the lack of Sf depth). Both are about even offensively with Turner being the better playmaker and Granger the superior shooter, but in the end Turner is easier for the Spurs to contain.
Brett Brown literally had the best job in the world this year![]()
Agree. One thing it does do is legitimately allows them to play small. They didn't have a third wing before.
