They had HCA in 2011, one of the few #1 seeds to choke to an 8th seed. They had HCA in 2012 and a 2-0 lead. Teams with a 2-0 lead win the series 83% of the time. They had a 5 point lead with 30 seconds left to win the le. They literally wheeled out the trophy. Teams with a 5 point lead in the Finals with 30 seconds or less left win the game 99% of the time. In 2015 they had a 3-2 series lead and choked game 6 at home to close out the series, they were up 7 with 5 minutes with Chris Paul missing 15 minutes due to injury and choked it away. In 2016 they had the best record in Spurs history, had one of the most lopsided Game 1 wins ever and HCA...and got humiliated by OKC

Over achieving is when a team has a Cinderella run or a lower seed faces a higher seed. Spurs always blow it in an embarrassing fashion every year this decade outside of 2014.

Again, just stating the facts, it is what it is, and 2014 makes all the other playoff chokes easier to accept since that 2014 le was so incredible. So if people are going to be down on the team or see some glaring weaknesses you can't blame them. Spurs are always built much more for the regular season than the playoffs.

Yeah they only lost Gm 6 at home decisively where the Cripples have owned them in the Doc era.
seriously, Spurs also got their teeth kicked in game 4 at home as well.

I would honestly rather face the Warriors than the Clippers!

There are only four teams that should be of any concern to Spurs fans -

    1. Cleveland Cavs
    2. Golden St. Warriors
    3. Clippers
    4. Houston Rockets

No other teams matter. Losses are going to happen but at the end of the day, the only teams that will stand in the way of the Spurs winning a Championship are the ones listed above. So, debate all you want, discuss lineup changes, roster moves, etc.. (what else is this forum for?) but unless those things impact the Spurs chances against the four teams listed above - it doesn't matter.

No doubt in my mind that Kawhi executed the play that Pop had drawn up. Manu just bricked the shot. But the game was being lost all game long by the horrible defense.
That's the truth. Our defense was really poor. Sometimes it seemed like we were funneling their guys to the basket. I felt a bad premonition at the end of the second quarter which Manu mentioned in his post-game interview. We looked to have the game in the bag before a 7 point turn around in the last two minutes. The 3 ft's off the Kawhi foul really hurt. He obviously wasn't shooting, but the refs seemed to assume he was going to because of the clock. Bad foul either way.
