TBH that was his most impressive dunk (even though he didn't stick the landing). At least he actually went OVER the car, instead of just jumping over the hood and then landing on the car like Blake did (who also won).

His others...yeah, more of the same. Oh, I'm gonna jump over this guy on a hoverboard. I'm gonna tap the ball on the rim. I'm gonna dunk two balls. We've seen all that before.

In my opinion they shouldn't allow props in the dunk contest.

What they should do is allow someone to meet you at the rim and see if you can pull of the dunk.

"Stephon Castle finished last in the dunk contest after his teammate, Victor Wembanyama, blocked him 16 times"

At least it would be entertaining.

    Sweet, thanks.

I feel like we had better resolution than 240p in 2008, but everything on youtube from that period seems to be that way

Trust me being from Germany I had to watch a whole lot of 240p highlights back in the day. It was basically the only way to watch the NBA in Europe

I was wondering the same thing as Arcadian. Surely the resolution was better than 240p back then, wasn't it? I am sure it was 720p back then, or am I remembering completely wrong? I'd love to watch some of these videos, but the quality makes them tough to watch. From what I remember, I don't remember the quality being that bad.

I wonder if the level of video quality NBA players get access when they're watching games/players from the 80s, 90s, early 2000s is better than most of us are able to get from Youtube and other sources?

The quality of the actual broadcasts was better, but uploads to Youtube were limited in quality in that era.

they should have nba guys try to replicate legendary dunks and grade on skill. Make them learn it on short notice too then if you want crazy prop dunks do that somewhere else.

bruh the NBA game recaps used to all be in that quality. Internet was mad slow back in the early 2000s.

Yeah, you're probably right. Since I am also not in the US, the internet here was slow, so maybe it was 240p and I am not remembering right. I do remember whatever I was watching on TV was very watchable (at least 480p or maybe 576p). Not sure how that would look today, though?

Thinking at what could help the ASG to be interesting again, I think the NBA should confront players with their contractions: they want to be all-stars but don't want to play a compe ive game.

To do that, NBA should let players decided whether or not they want to be a part of the all-star selection process. At the start of the season, each player will have to decide if he wants to have his name in the all-star ballot. If a player decides he wants to postulate to be an all-star, he also has to agree that the ASG should be a compe ive game that he should try to win.

Players will be at the ASG not because it's mandatory but because they have chosen it. Format of the game could go back to east vs west which was great for years when players were trying.

In reality, it would be quite difficult to go. It would likely require updating the CBA, which will need the agreement of the NBPA. All-star based incentives in contract would also have to be changed.

yup, NBA games weren't on TV a lot in Europe. Except for the finals which they showed the full game the next day. That's why I remember the 03 finals very well. Then it switched to some expensive pay TV thing that only rich folks could afford. Some buddy from my school had it, so I was able to watch Game 6 and 7 of the Spurs vs. Pistons finals live. It was super difficult to catch NBA games out here back then.

The wild thing is I still remember the Marbury game winner, the T-Mac 13 points in 33 seconds, etc. just from seeing highlights on NBA.com

i missed the T-mac ending ... left the house thinking the game was over. when driving home with my dad, had sports radio on. guy was just reading off all the final scores and i assumed he misspoke or there was some typo. got home and caught what happened on sportscenter
