I think the current TV show timeline is right around volume 8 of the comics, somewhere in the mid 40's by issue #
lee, I have them all but don't know where in the comics (current #) the show is at now. Do you?

Sounds about right to me
BTW, I bought them all for my Nexus 10... Very pleased. Artwork really jumps off that badass screen![]()
So, basically, a majority of people here hate everyone and fall asleep unless the show resembles a Jason Bay movie.
gotcha.
Thanks!
This is about where I am.
However, my frustrations with the show have less to do with the pace than what they're doing in the slower moments. If we were getting actual character development or interesting dialog when the action slowed down, I'd be in heaven. We're not, though. In ways that I think are even more problematic than all of last season's farm days. Especially now that we've got characters that I really love in the comics -- Michonne, Andrea, Tyreese, etc. -- who are nothing but empty s s of insufferable boredom thus far on the TV show.
I would also add that while I generally love the fact the show doesn't follow the comics directly, I've been disappointed with the changes they've made to the prison/Woodbury arcs. They have, in my opinion, drastically lowered the stakes/tension.
It has nothing to do with resembling a "Jason" Bay (Guessing you meant Michael here) movie. There is just way too much pointless downtime that does nothing for the show or the characters. I personally don't really care about some women standing around washing clothes and gossiping and then next scene I get to see some dude sweeping. Anyone remember farm girl suicide subplot? What the was that.
Does anyone actually watch this show because it is good? Or is it because they are still hoping it will be good? Improved cinematography would at least give this show something. The other AMC shows have it. I still remember that shot of Shane looking out of the car's window and seeing that zombie in the field. More of that please if I have to deal with the rest.
The show always looks great, I have no idea what you are talking about. The actors can leave a lot to be desired sometimes, but the cinematography is always on point.
That would be me, good sir. I'm one Daryl death away from not watching this show ever again. And from what I've been reading on the show's facebook page, other people are getting tired of the bull as well.
For sure, CDC building blowing up was a thing of beauty.
I watch it because I am genuinely entertained by it and I think it does a number of things very well. I can't imagine watching a show if that weren't the case, let alone taking the time to comment about and discuss it in depth.
That does not mean, however, that there aren't a number of areas in which it could improve.
Huh? For all it's faults, the show is pretty consistently good looking. There was some shaky CGI in the first season (CDC 'splosion, I'm looking at you), but it is far from an ugly show.
Oh, I'm certainly entertained, don't get me wrong. I just think that with the budget, source material, and the network (although it would have been interesting to see what HBO could have done with it), this show could have cut down on many of its flaws. Maybe they still can.
And I guess I'm just not seeing what you guys see in the cinematography. Especially when I compare it to fellow AMC shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, or even Rubicon.
Well, yeah. I never watched Rubicon, but even Boardwalk Empire looks like when compared to Breaking Bad and Mad Men.
Just realized I did that... Guess I had baseball on my mind
Well you must really be into baseball to have him on your mind since that dude is so under the radar baseball itself barely notices him.
I agree with this assessment. I don't see it as a matter of action vs dialogue/character scenes. As you say, the dialogue just isn't that interesting.
Overall, the show still interests and entertains me, or I wouldn't watch it. But that doesn't mean I have to be 100% all-in with how they're moving things along.
I was convinced Carl would get shot in the eye while he was outside with Rick watching the perimeter.
Was praying that Phil would've waken up, grabbed the knife outta her hand, and rammed it into her throat. That would've made my week. Not much else to say about this ep as it was just a plot mover.
Next week's ep might solve the ammo problem if helmet boy has a bunch of it stocked up in town. I'm hoping Carl gets his ing head blown off by a shotgun as well.
Don't like her characters, but Andrea has a pretty nice body -- especially for a 43 yr old.
I'm pulling for the zombies now.
Meh, the only problem I have with the last episode is how slowly things moved. I do though like the dialogue and build up. Big things are gonna happen soon.
Morgan coming back next episode which is nice and Glenn will die by season end
It's getting harder and harder to care about either zombie or human.
