Spurfans have a reason to be upset about the way Kawhi quit on the team but I dont get why they're mad at him for wanting some of that money (Which Spurs were too cheap to give him.)

yeah Duncan and Brady's are ultra rare. But it doesn't mean you cut off your nose to spite your face and don't go out of your way to retain a top 3 league player just because he is demanding market value when you're used to guys taking paycuts. It's like the Cowboys with DeMarcus Lawrence. Letting him go over price would have been stupid. Dak Prescott on the other hand... well, that's debatable because it's iffy on how good he is.

The truth will be revealed this off-season. If Kawhi stays in Toronto, where he'll have an easy road to the Finals for the next 3 years with perhaps a chance to repeat, then it's logical PATFO was partly to blame for the situation. If he bolts to LA, then it was obvious Kawhi or his team was at fault for turning the situation into a circus and probably did exaggerate the injury to sit out games to ensure he would be a maximum health for his contract year.
