Depending on who comes off the board between now and then, I wouldn't mind of the Spurs surprised everyone and drafted Josh Perkins or even Cody Martin at 49. If not, they're at the top of my list for UFA' to invite to camp.
It went by quietly, but Charlotte did well taking Cody Martin. I thought he would probably get drafted, but 36 is a little higher than I expected.

Josh Perkins is still underrated and underappreciated. If Dort is off the board, I think the Spurs ought to take him. Less of a flyer than most of the players left.

GSW is going to have a few extra roster spots next year. It still pisses me off that second round picks are out there for cash, and the Spurs never make that deal. If you're supposed to be so good at drafting, that ought to be a no-brainer.
The results of tonight's draft don't really indicate that the Spurs are good at drafting.

It wouldn't be a Spurs draft if they didn't get an undersize wing.

Realistically, Spurs will take a Euro or some super scrub who agrees to sign directly with Austin.

Why do we need so many shooting guards? Even if this guy is good enough to make the team, he's just going to steal minutes from Murray, White, Walker, or Johnson. (Not to mention Forbes and Mills).

With pick 49 we might as well have taken a gamble on Jontay or some SF.

Weatherspoon? I thought the last thing they needed was another SG. Maybe they're anticipating someone overpaying Forbes next year?

I was listening to one of the Ringer podcasts and the host said multiple front office people and scouts called Weatherspoon the biggest sleeper of the draft.

Hopefully Belli, Wombat, and Forbes are on their way out over the next two years. Then the direction of this pick makes more sense.

If Weatherspoon agreed to sign a two-way contract or sign directly with Austin, that'd be pretty good. He's a bit better than the super scrubs who typically agree to do that.
