Ginobili, the ideal son-in-law (which means in this french expression, he's nice, polite, perfect, politically correct, so that any parents would like him to marry their daughter)
Manu, player extrovert et smart at communicating, has an almost perfect popularity in Argentina. Almost....
There are a lot of reasons to appreciate Manu Ginobili. First, for the crazy generosity of his very inspired game who led the spurs in a good rythm in the PO. For his achievements: he's the only one with Bill Bradley to have won the euroleague, the NBA le and the gold medal. for his personality of course, both wise and extrovert, which make him the ideal son-in-law of an "over soccerised" argentina, who search some positive heros, well on all aspects.
Outside of the soccer and tennis players, stars that can't be ignored but sometimes unbearable, they are two to have this profile, the hockey female player, Luciana Aymar, et him, Manu Ginobili. Both are provincial, her from Rosario, him from Bahia Blanca. Both are known as much for their own talent as for the fact that they represent their national team. Before the Beijin olympic games, a big campaign was showing manu like a samaritan, here going with kids in theme parks, here like a male mid-wife. The whole package.
A big Twitter user.
Geek "dedicated", he uses as an expert all the networks. He promised on Twitter not to talk bball anymore till the end of the mavs serie. Fail ! He allowed us to follow, with a lot of sense of humour, the saga of his broken nose. "Confirmed !" he said after the game 3, "they broke my little nose. what a shame. it was so cute". Later: "the surgery was succesful" with a lot of photoshoped pics rather funny.
So is Manu, who the spanish paper Gigantes once called "Manudona" et who show us the visages scanned of his future twins on Facebook. So, no flaw ? not exactly. He had to justify longly his absence for the next world championship in a column that he writes for some years in the paper La Nacion. He promised to be there for the London Olympics et to take part to the qualifying compe ion but some peole reproach him for favoring his career plan rather than the conquest of the only le that lacks the gold generation of the argentine NT: the world championship. Seen from France, it looks like a great problem to have.
