I feel bad for this guy. You can tell he is torn up about the decision to cut costs.

I feel bad for this guy. You can tell he is torn up about the decision to cut costs.

Three of Better.com’s top executives have reportedly resigned from the company after the unicorn mortgage lender was hit by a wave of backlash over the leaked Zoom call, where CEO Vishal Garg callously laid off around 900 employees.

Better.com head of marketing Melanie Hahn, head of public relations Tanya Hayre Gillogley and vice-president of communications Patrick Lenihan have all resigned, Insider reported.

In a message from the founder and CEO, Garg issued an apology on the company’s blog. The chief executive wrote, “I want to apologize for the way I handled the layoffs last week.” He continued, “I failed to show the appropriate amount of respect and appreciation for the individuals who were affected and for their contributions to Better. I own the decision to do the layoffs, but in communicating it, I blundered the execution. In doing so, I embarrassed you.”

    Also:

Better.com is delaying its public listing due to changes it made a day before it fired workers, according to Bloomberg. Because it revised terms of its merger with "blank-check" company Aurora Acquisition Corp., it will push back the closing of the transaction, the wire service noted.

Wow I really ed up (because of the reaction on social media, not because I did something different. I showed the world how it works in every boardroom in the country). I think I'll take time off as a punishment. Paid of course.

You don't lay anyone off, ever, without thinking about it. He did exactly what he planned on doing, only he discounted the ability to record and rebroadcast it. Getting fired is part of life, it could have come in a letter much more crass. Most here have been in that office handed that letter and the Cobra insurance package. Knowing you've been handed your coat and walked like you're a criminal while others remain employed causes some soul searching, but eventually you'll land in a better place, no pun intended.

Yup, it is a problem with social media, not involving company management nor employees.

“Employees are calling for a head,” a company source told The Daily Beast, arguing that Garg stepping down is a cosmetic fix more than a meaningful one. “It’s the entire leadership team. Vishal’s a large part of it, but there’s a lot more there,” the person said of Better’s fractured culture.

In an email obtained by The Daily Beast, the company’s board of directors—which had previously granted Garg exceptionally wide la ude—announced that it will bring in a third party firm to conduct a “leadership and cultural assessment.” Vice first reported the news.

Over the past two weeks, multiple high-ranking Better executives have fled the company, including the head of marketing, vice president of communications, and head of public relations.

More resignations are expected. “[The] company culture took a DEEP dive and everyone I’ve spoken to is looking to leave,” another current worker told The Daily Beast earlier this week.

Maybe he is knowledgeable because he was punched in the face numerous times and kicked in the throat by an ex employer.

Well, he does fantasize about you and CD wearing masks, sequestered in a bedroom, and in togas, so he does have a caring side.

gay pillow talk is a well-established theme, imagining in other men in their bedrooms pretty much goes without saying -- but he did say it.

Deregulation has downsides. Supply chain efficiency (profitability for owners) was bought at the expense of reliability for all others.
