They really should bring back "Up With People."

If you can even recall the "Up With People" halftime days (or some of the other schlock that used to be Super Bowl halftime entertainment), you'd realize that McCartney is among the very best acts the NFL has come up with.

I'm still struggling with the concept of the Beatles being overrated. I respect the opinion, but vehemently disagree with it (if that makes any sense). I suspect that if you talked to most modern "musicians," you'd find a large amount of respect/reverence for the Beatles. Too many current bands have Beatles covers in their shows or Beatles influences in their music for that not to be true.
    The Beatles are overrated.

    Springsteen is overrated.

Oh let the hit the fan!

    Beatles--they don't bother me.

I HATE Springsteen so I will be ducking from the fan along with you.

Why do we need a half-time show anyway?

Springsteen sings like he's trying to pinch one off ... I didn't like Bob Dylan for the same reason.

I guess if you're arguing that the Beatles being the most influential force in modern music history does not mean that they are the greatest musicians who ever lived, as some seem to think, then yeah, they are overrated. (that's a constipated way to express that thought, sorry).

Sort of like anyone who would argue that Tim Duncan is the best athlete ever would overrate him.

I would agree, though, that among the Beatles, McCartney was not the most dynamic performer.

LOL FWD! I like some of the Beatles songs. I just don't think they are worth jumping off a cliff for like some seem to think. It's also anoying hearing about all the anthologies that come out after every band member farts. I can't understand people who treat their stuff like holy scripture.

You have to put them in perspective. When they played, the technology was in in the infant stage. They had 3 amps and a set of drums...so naturally their sound will not be impressive, but the songs and the rifs and chords that they wrote are still used and still influence muscians even today.

They have the most famous chord in the history of music in Hard days Night.

News flash...even a 22 year old Paul did the same thing. The Beatles weren't ones to dance on stage.

Can't argue with that one...I never understood much of his appeal. Maybe because I'm not from New Joysey.

I'd also like to add Phish, DMB, and Grateful Dead to that list.

I have no problems with some beattles stuff, and but I geniuenly like Lennon's and Harrisons solo work better. Paul has some ok stuff as well.

Overrated? sure, but then there isnt' a group or singer out there that isn't overrated by SOMEBODY.

Oh and don't knock dylan or bruce, they're ing awesome.

Agreed...kinda like me thinking Phish and DMB are overrated and you ing in your pants everytime you hear em....

But I don't knock Dylan or Springsteen....Dylan I know is great..he's not overrated..I just don't particularly like everything he's done.

Springsteen...well I understand why people love him...but again I don't particularly like his stuff save Born To Run...that's a great song.

Ditto! I just can't get into that east coast style of music.

Dylan is only popular because the children of the 60s were too stoned to realize they couldn't understand wtf he was saying.

You want to know how to tell if you like an overrated musician?

If you think it's cool to like them.

    Ditto again.

I can't stand Dylan or Springsteen. When I was in college, my friend was Springsteen's assistant and we had so many opportunities to see him free and I always turned it down.
