Obviously, I don't know you, and I would never presume to know your entire life history. But based on what I've read here, you've managed a certain amount of financial success in your life -- you're a business owner (from family, right?), you're able to travel, you have nice things -- and you've probably had to work very hard to get/maintain those things. So, congratulations to your success. Sincerely.
But not everyone is so lucky, no matter how hard they may work throughout their lifetime.
The at ude, which usually comes from those with privilege (and, as far as this country is concerned, young white male business owner with money = privilege), that other people can be equally successful if only they apply themselves is incredibly ignorant. And a particular pet peeve of mine. Your employees aren't working for you because operating carnival rides is their lifelong dream; they need that job. To even have the gall to complain about having to pay your employees $7.25/hour (or whatever it is in California, since that was originally thrown out as a Texas figure) just floors me.
